GW27 Stats - The Top Ten

Share post on:

Premier League GW27 Starts Saturday 6th March 2021

Time to breathe. That's because the most important gameweek in FPL history (well certainly this season) has finally come to an end and with the dust settling before another round of fixtures, it is time to ask yourself how you did.

Did you get your triple captain pick correct and launch yourself into title contention or did you pick an absolute dud in their hopes of a points bonanza (naming no names but someone here may have opted for Bruno Fernandes)

If you are swimming with the tide, then now it is time for you to dig deep and make use of your energy reserves, as it is the final push towards the gold or if you're swimming against the tide, you may as well return to shore and pack up your stuff from the beach.

While some clubs are guilty of being on the beach at this point of the season, it is not a stance that you can afford to take at this juncture and with another full fixture programme appearing on the horizon, it is time to once again to look at the highest point scorers in the world of FPL.

While although Bruno Fernandes did not have a spectacular week in terms of performance, as Manchester United contested not one but two bore draws, the former Sporting Lisbon star will be able to take solace elsewhere.

That's because the Portuguese international still straddles at the top of the FPL mountain and if he can get his hands on an assist or goal against Manchester City at the weekend, he will break the 200-point barrier for the season.

Fernandes has a 23-point advantage over his nearest challenger, although the makeup of such a rival has changed in the past week and where it was Mohamed Salah doing his best to chase him, it is now Heung-min Son.

Son has been more architect than opposed to talisman over the past week and with several new assists under his belt, the South Korean international has leapfrogged Liverpool's Mohamed Salah into second place.

It has been a tough week for Salah, as he failed to get on the scoresheet against both Sheffield United and Chelsea and things certainly got worse against the latter, as he was hauled off halfway through the second half.

Salah now has a six-point margin over Harry Kane in fourth and although he missed a couple of chances against Fulham, the England international did manage to find the net against Burnley last weekend.

The rest of the table has something of a sharing theme to it, as first Emiliano Martinez and Patrick Bamford currently hold on to joint fifth place, while there is a three-way tie for those who are currently in seventh.

The trio of names that comprise the race for seventh and beyond are Marcus Rashford, Ilkay Gündogan and Jamie Vardy, as the Leicester forward is the meat in what looks like a Manchester based sandwich.

While rounding out the top 10, is the talents of Raheem Sterling and although he failed to register a goal or assist against Wolves in midweek, the 26-year-old still has a total of 130 FPL points to his name.

Did You Know?

Manchester City have won their last 15 matches (Premier League). What price 16 at the end of the weekend?

Then again, Man Utd are undefeated in their last 21 away matches (Premier League). Something will have to give this weekend at the Etihad.

Fulham have drawn 6 of their last 7 away matches (Premier League). With the way Liverpool are playing at home recently, Scott Parker's men may feel that they can get something from their trip to Anfield.

Manchester City have had the most shots per game in the Premier League this season, with 15.48. To be honest, you probably did know that one.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) has made the most inaccurate passes in the opposition half in the Premier League this season, with 454. Certainly not the Trent of the past two seasons is he.
