Premier League GW24 Starts Saturday 13th February 2021

And now it is time to relax. The frantic period of 40 Premier League fixtures in the space of a fortnight has finally come to an end and with four more gameweeks now in the history books, the question is, how did you perform over such a stretch?

Has such a quickfire turnover of matches set you in good stead for the final third of the season or has it left you trailing behind? If it is the former, then well played and if it is the latter, then commiserations.

With 15 gameweeks of the season remaining, there may be time to turn things around in the pursuit of victory. Then again, at this point of the campaign, the hunt for that all-important differential becomes even more difficult.

Which means, it may be easier to stick to what you know, while that usually comes in the shape of those highest points scorers in the world of FPL and with that in mind, here are the latest top 10 for your perusal.

It's as you were at the top of the tree, as Bruno Fernandes once again is the leader of the pack and although he and his Manchester United cohorts had to make do with just one point against Everton, the Portuguese star helped himself to seven.

That means the former Sporting Lisbon star now has a 14-point lead at the top of the standings and things are beginning to heat up behind him, as second place is currently shared between two more midfielders.

The men in question are Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Tottenham's Heung-min Son and with both finding the scoresheet at the weekend, they currently possess a four-point advantage over another man who was among the goals on Sunday.

With the return to the starting eleven for Harry Kane, there was an element of desperation from Jose Mourinho. Then again, for those FPL managers who kept their faith in the England captain, they would have been suitably rewarded.

While being in the goals, seems to be the constant throughout this week's rundown and with Patrick Bamford finding the net against Crystal Palace, the Leeds forward has now moved into fifth place in the standings,

His promotion comes at the expense of Jack Grealish, who slips to sixth place and it is all change below the Aston Villa midfielder, as the recent return of form to Dominic Calvert-Lewin sees him move to seventh.

Jamie Vardy is another forward who has returned from injury, although he had little impact against Wolves and is subsequently eighth. While rounding out the top 10 are Emiliano Martinez and Callum Wilson in joint ninth.

In terms of who the highest scoring defender is, it is once again back to sole occupancy and after keeping a clean sheet against Fulham, Aaron Cresswell pulls clear at the top of the standings with 106 points.

Did You Know?

Manchester City have won their last 10 matches (Premier League). After victory against Liverpool, they are edging ever closer to this season's Premier League title and with Tottenham up next, Pep Guardiola's men will be looking to exact revenge on the defeat they suffered last November.

Manchester United are undefeated in their last 18 away matches (Premier League). Unfortunately for the Red Devils, it seems as if their recent patchy form at Old Trafford has proved to be their ultimate undoing.

West Brom have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 8 matches (Premier League). So much for a Sam Allardyce team being resolute in defence, on recent evidence it looks as if this latest survival ask is too big for the one-time England manager.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) has had the most shots from counter attacks in the Premier League this season, with 7. His goals have made a huge impact this season, can he and his teammates deliver European football to Villa Park next season?

Fulham have lost possession due to a bad first touch the most times per game in the Premier League this season, with 18.27. Something else that manager Scott Parker will need to work on.
