Premier League GW15 Tuesday 3rd December 2019

It's time to open your footballing advent calendars and that means from here until the start of next year, the Premier League action comes thick and fast. Will the title race be completed by the start of 2020 and will Watford sack another manager by then?

These are just two questions that are worth considering but before you discuss those topics down the local, why not also digest another round of perfect pub conversation fodder and with that in mind, it is time for another raft of stats that you might not have been aware of.

Did You Know?

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 31 Premier League matches, this is a club record equalling run and if they get the better of Everton in midweek, the next objective for Jurgen Klopp's men will be the English record of 49 matches one that was set by Arsenal from May 2003 to October 2004.

In addition to that Liverpool, have only lost once in their last FIFTY-TWO Premier League matches. Compare that to Arsenal who lost one in FIFTY and the discussion point as to who is the better side, is one that becomes more pertinent with each week that passes.

If Liverpool do win the Premier League this season and manage to go unbeaten as well, then you would have to say that lifting the title and losing one single game across two campaigns, would make them the all-time greats. That said, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Crystal Palace have had the fewest shots per game in the Premier League this season, with 10. They only needed two to get the better of Burnley on Saturday, but it is fair to say that the Eagles are certainly struggling in the final third.

Manchester City have the most average possession at 60.5% - although their performance against Newcastle showed that just having lots of the ball, does not necessarily win you matches.

Many will argue that City could have done with their Argentine talisman against Newcastle and they are probably right. However, Sergio Agüero has had the most shots off target in the Premier League this season, with 19.

Then again, you could just as easily say that the reason Aguero has the most shots off target, is because he is having the most overall shots out of everyone in the division and unless you are Joelinton, you will eventually find the net at some point.

Kevin De Bruyne is the current Premier League assist king with 9 to his name. Although he reminded us all just how sweet he can hit a football on Saturday. There's always something aesthetically pleasing about a shot that cannons of the crossbar and bounces down before going over the line.

Bournemouth have scored the most amount of Premier League goals from set pieces this season with nine. Although it's not all good news for the Cherries and the reason for that is…..

Bournemouth have made the fewest tackles per game in the Premier League this season, with 12.79. Perhaps if they had put their foot in a bit more against Tottenham on Saturday, they may well have managed to earn a point in North London.

Talking of Tottenham, they have the worst clean sheet record in the Premier League this season. Just one has been earned from 14 attempts, although ask any Spurs fan and they will happy that they are recording victories. The more defensive aspects of the game will come in good time.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) has scored the most right footed goals in the Premier League this season, with 9. How Frank Lampard could have done with his services against West Ham at the weekend, he will be hoping for a quick return and especially if this Chelsea slump continues further.

César Azpilicueta (Chelsea) has made the most inaccurate passes in his own half in the Premier League this season, with 67. “NO CESAR, over here!”

Mat Ryan (Brighton) has made the most saves in the Premier League this season, with 55. An impressive statistic but it was clear he could not handle the power of Virgil Van Dijk on Saturday afternoon.

Statistically Todd Cantwell has the worst Premier League celebration of all-time. If you can think of a worse suggestion, please let us know in the comments below.
