GW13 Stats - The Top Ten

Share post on:

Premier League GW13 Starts Tuesday 15th December 2020

When looking back at last weekend's Premier League results, you get the feeling it was one of those strange weeks. When was the last time, all the traditional “big six” failed to win in the same weekend? To be honest I don't have the answer, but it must have been a while ago.

While although betting coupons would have been busted up and down the country, FPL points would have still been accrued on a personal level and even if your team fails to come out on top, a strong fantasy week can at least soften the blow.

With a third of the season all but in the history books, things are starting to heat up and this means that mistakes will be punished more severely in both the physical and digital realms of top flight management.

As the busy festive period approaches, now is the time to take stock of the first phase of the campaign and what better way to do that, than by looking at the top 10 highest player point tallies to date. A list that looks as follows:

It is once again all change at the top, even if it is just a case of Tottenham's strike duo switching positions once more. In this edition of the updated standings, it is Harry Kane who has climbed back to the summit of Mount FPL.

His goal against Crystal Palace gives him a two-point advantage over his teammate Heung min-Son and with the South Korean laying on the assist for Kane as per usual, he has at least made sure that the England captain has not left him behind.

While talking of not being left behind, Mohamed Salah is making sure that he is still on the coattails of the Tottenham pair and after netting a penalty against Fulham on Sunday, the Merseyside marksman stays third in the table.

Moving up to fourth place is Jamie Vardy and although he only found the net once against Brighton, he did make the other two. After such an impressive performance against the Seagulls, he has leapfrogged Bruno Fernandes who now finds himself in joint fifth.

A position that he shares with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, after the Everton forward made the winning goal against Chelsea on Saturday and were it not for an offside call going against him, there is every chance a penalty goal or at least the assist from it, could also have been added to his tally.

From there, it is quite a distance to Patrick Bamford who currently lies seventh and he is a point clear of Wilfried Zaha in eighth. While the Ivorian international, finds himself a point clear of Jack Grealish in ninth.

While rounding out the top ten is the highest scoring defender in the game and that is Kurt Zouma. Even though Chelsea lost at the weekend, the French international has at least managed to sneak back into the charts.

Did You Know?

Liverpool have been winning at both half time and full time in 25 of their last 35 home matches (Premier League). The question is whether Tottenham can be the team that finally breaks Liverpool's incredible record at Anfield. After all, records are there to be broken.

Manchester City have won 35 of their last 42 home matches (Premier League). That's all very well, but they are nowhere near the level that they have been these past few seasons and you only need to look at the recent Manchester derby as evidence of that.

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 20 of Crystal Palace's last 25 home games (Premier League). While were it not for Vicente Guaita on Sunday, it certainly would have been over 2.5 goals between Crystal Palace and Tottenham at Selhurst Park.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester) has strayed offside the most times in the Premier League this season, with 12. However, he has found the net on 10 separate occasions, so it is certainly a risk that is worth taking by the Foxes' talisman.
