Premier League GW11 Starts Friday 4th December 2020

It is fair to say that last weekend was a bit of a topsy turvy week in terms of Premier League action and when that happens, the consequences are always felt within the FPL environment, as managers bemoan what can only be considered as poor selection choices.

However, now is not the time to beat yourself up, instead now is the time to focus and with advent calendars being opened all over the world, December promises to be the month that will either make or break your fantasy seasons.

This is the time when squad rotation comes to the fore, not only for you digital coaches but also those who have the task of overseeing the 20 top flight teams and with chopping and changing coming to the fore, one must always second guess the likes of Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp.

While before we all get caught out by wholesale change, it is time to take stock of the current top 10 in terms of player points and it is a list that looks as follows:

The Tottenham duopoly at the top of the standings is one that is still in place, although there is a slight variation to last week and that comes in the shape of Heung-min Son going it alone once more, albeit only just.

In what was a forgettable game for both he and his English talisman teammate, the South Korean has managed to move ahead at the top of the table, by virtue of picking up an additional clean sheet point in midfield.

Even though Son played a far lesser role in helping his teammates keep a clean sheet, every little certainly helps and it is the defensive inducement, that leaves Harry Kane having to settle for second place at present.

While there is a new name in third place, as Bruno Fernandes continues his upwards mobility up the FPL table, and it is no coincidence that Manchester United's mini resurgence is connected to the recent efforts of the Portuguese international.

Efforts that have seen him go above Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian just a point behind his Manchester United counterpart, the Liverpool star is in the middle of a one-point trend that continues all the way down to sixth place.

In that chain behind Salah, are both Dominic-Calvert Lewin and Jack Grealish, as the England pair both suffered defeat for their respective clubs at the weekend, although the latter did manage to find the net against West Ham on Monday night.

Talking of finding the net, that is exactly what Callum Wilson managed last Friday and in addition to that, he made an assist for teammate Joelinton. While it is that points haul, which sees the former Bournemouth man move up to seventh in the standings.

Wilson's efforts mean that he has leapfrogged Jamie Vardy, who was part of a Leicester side that lost to Fulham on Monday night and the former England international could only play a part in the Foxes' late consolation.

Patrick Bamford finds himself ninth after being a part of the Leeds side that beat Everton last Saturday and he is three points clear of the highest scoring defender in the game. An accolade that goes to Kurt Zouma, who earned clean sheet points against Tottenham last Sunday.

Did You Know?

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 43 home matches (Premier League). The run continued against Leicester and if the Foxes failed to show any bite, will the Wolves show their teeth instead?

Manchester United have won their last 8 away matches (Premier League). If only they could play away from Old Trafford every week.

West Ham have been drawing at half time and winning at full time in their last 3 matches (Premier League). With that in mind, David Moyes will tell his players that if they are level at the interval, they still have a chance of kicking on and beating United this weekend.

Leeds have strayed offside the most times in the Premier League this season, with 21. One would imagine that this is a consequence of their overload tactic.
