GW11 Stats - A Big Portion Of Numbers

Share post on:

Premier League GW11 Starts Saturday 2nd November 2019

In our quest to make football fans more intelligent, it's time for another round of ‘Did You Know' and this week we once again provide a healthy amount of stats, that subsequently become perfect pub conversation fodder (that is if you're over 18 years of age and as always, please FPL responsibly)

Did You Know?

Liverpool have lost just two of their last FIFTY matches and not only that they've won 18 of their last 19 matches, while the latter part of that double stat has seen them earn 55 of the last 57 Premier League points that have been on offer. It's a monstrous run, but is 2020 finally going to be their year?

Manchester City have won 22 of their last 25 home matches (Premier League) However, they are now without Fernandinho this weekend and with Spanish duo Rodri and Aymeric Laporte out injured, the absences are really starting to rack up for Pep Guardiola.

Chelsea have scored at least 4 goals in their last 3 away matches (Premier League). Which is not good news for Watford, as they play host to the Blues this Saturday.

When you look at Watford, they've actually drawn 50% of their league outings this season including the last three matches in a row, it's just a shame that the other 50% have all resulted in defeats and that is what currently sees them lie bottom of the table.

Wolves have drawn 60% of their league fixtures this season. Which when you consider how tight the middle group of the Premier League is right now, the landscape of their campaign could be looking a whole lot different. However, they do seem juggling their Europa League exploits relatively well.

Also Wolves have allowed their opponents the most attempts from set piece situations in the Premier League this season, with 17. When you consider they have conceded 13 goals (the same amount that they have scored) this is obviously causing Nuno and his players some headaches.

Norwich have had their players dribbled past most often per game in the Premier League this season, with 13 - On the evidence of last Sunday, they do at least have someone who can save a penalty or two. However, the Canaries need to find a win and soon, as the stark reality of the top-flight kicks in.

Nicolas Pepe has scored one goal in 729 minutes of Premier League football
Joelinton has scored one goal in 802 minutes of Premier League football.
I'm not sure who is the bigger flop at this stage of proceedings, truth be told they are just as bad as each other. Maybe this one needs to go to a Twitter vote?

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) has made the most accurate passes in the Premier League this season, with 672 - The man is not only a giant but an absolute Rolls-Royce of a defender. That said, it would be interesting to see how the league leaders coped if he was out for a prolonged period of time.

Burnley have completed the fewest passes per game in the Premier League this season, with 207.5 Interestingly this the same amount of times that Sean Dyche has moaned about an opposition player diving this season.

Leicester have had their passes intercepted the most times per game in the Premier League this season, with 13.2 - To be honest, considering the level of swashbuckling football they are playing right now, I doubt Brendan Rodgers would be all too concerned by this particular stat.

Arsenal have dribbled past their opponents the most times per game in the Premier League this season, with 12.8 They also lead the league table in being told by their club captain to F**k off, with 2.

Manchester City have got the most assists from open play in the Premier League this season, with 21. Ok let's be honest, who really scored that goal between David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne and more importantly should have it stood? However, from a pure maths point of view, that accounts for 65% of all their league goals this season. (Openplay assists, not contentious offside goals)

Sheffield United have made the most clearances per game in the Premier League this season, with 28.9. They also have the narrowest Premier League team in history, as rumour has it Chris Wilder makes his team train in a corridor.

Of the top ten Premier League goalscorers at present, Teemu Pukki has made the largest overall contribution to his side. 55% of all of Norwich's goals have come from the Finn, although his value is decreasing in the world of FPL after such an early purple patch of form.
