Everton vs Tottenham

The gameweek gets underway this Friday night, as Everton play host to Tottenham and with both clubs dropping points last weekend, it looks as if these respective outfits are on the fringes of the European race.

For Everton it was a rather frustrating draw with Brighton on Monday, while for Tottenham it was a 3-1 reverse at home to Manchester United and one that puts more pressure on Jose Mourinho.

Prediction: Everton 1-0 Tottenham

Newcastle vs West Ham

The clouds are starting to lift on Tyneside, as Newcastle have picked up four points in their last two outings and in doing so, they have put a considerable amount of distance between themselves and Fulham at the bottom of the table.

This weekend sees them play host to West Ham and after recording successive league wins, the Hammers have reinforced their hopes of European qualification for next season.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-2 West Ham

Wolves vs Sheffield United

Wolves managed to snare a late victory over Fulham last Friday and although three more points would have been highly welcomed, it has done nothing to move the needle in terms of their lacklustre season.

Of course, things could be a lot worse, as they could be Sheffield United and with the Blades suffering another defeat on Sunday, their top flight status in getting closer to expiration.

Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Sheffield United

Arsenal vs Fulham

It is Europa League or bust for Arsenal now and even though it would have been easy to offer up a half measure against Sheffield United on Sunday, Mikel Arteta's men were still capable of turning on the style.

This weekend they play host to Fulham and with the Cottagers now some distance from safety, it looks as if Scott Parker's escape plan may need a bit of tweak in the next couple of days.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Fulham

Manchester United vs Burnley

Manchester United have certainly kept the title race alive for at least another week and although they have closed the gap on crosstown rivals Manchester City, the destination of trophy will surely not change.

This weekend sees them play host to Burnley and with the Clarets losing to Newcastle last week, they may just have been dragged kicking and screaming into the battle to avoid the drop.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Burnley

Chelsea vs Brighton

After claiming a place in next month's F.A. Cup final, it is a return to league matters for Chelsea and with Thomas Tuchel's men currently outside the top four, Tuesday night provides the perfect opportunity to get back in.

The Blues play host to a Brighton side who have been leapfrogged by Newcastle in the battle to avoid the drop and although there is considerable distance between themselves and Fulham, they cannot relax just yet.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Brighton

Tottenham vs Southampton

Just days before the Carabao Cup final and Tottenham begin another search for a new manager, as in the middle of all the Super League madness and that was incredbly mad, Jose Mourinho has been sacked.

Tottenham's season has pretty much fizzled out and you could say the same of Southampton, who after losing in Sunday's F.A. Cup final, now have six dead rubbers to compete in.

Prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Southampton

Aston Villa vs Manchester City

Aston Villa's hopes of finishing in the top half of the Premier League table have diminished somewhat and it is no surprise that their downturn of form has come since the injury to Jack Grealish.

The England international is unavailable for the visit of this season's champions elect and after Manchester City were dumped out of the F.A. Cup last weekend, Pep Guardiola's men will look to bounce back in perfect fashion.

Prediction: Aston Villa 0-2 Manchester City

Leicester vs West Brom

Leicester have taken the final step on the Road to Wembley and although the Foxes can look forward to another day out next month, Brendan Rodgers' men must now return their focus to the Premier League.

Thursday night sees them play host to a West Brom side that have won their last two league outings and although performances have improved, you do get the feeling it is too little too late.

Prediction: Leicester 2-0 West Brom
