Brighton vs Bournemouth

A South Coast derby kicks off the weekend's proceedings and although local bragging rights are deemed important, it is fair to say that both Brighton and Bournemouth are looking for a much needed win.

The Seagulls gave Tottenham a scare on Boxing Day, but ultimately came away empty handed and although the Cherries earned a draw against Arsenal, both teams are lying perilously close to the relegation trapdoor.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth

Southampton vs Crystal Palace

The biggest shock of Boxing Day came at Stamford Bridge and after getting the better of Chelsea, Southampton have managed to put some much welcomed daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

The Saints will look to make it three wins in a row on Saturday, although with Crystal Palace as the opposition that won't be easy and especially as the Eagles have lost just one of their last six outings.

Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Watford vs Aston Villa

Is the great escape on for Watford? To be honest, it might be a little too early to make such a sweeping statement. However, with the Hornets now off the bottom, it seems as if Nigel Pearson has made great use of the new manager bounce that came with his appointment.

They play host to Aston Villa on Saturday and with Dean Smith's men also in the bottom three, there is no doubt that this is another game that takes on the mantle of relegation ‘six-pointer'.

Prediction: Watford 2-0 Aston Villa

Newcastle vs Everton

Matty Longstaff will be hoping that he can play Manchester United every week and when he put his Newcastle side ahead at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, it looked as if another win over the Red Devils this season was on.

Unfortunately, abysmal defending was the Magpies undoing and after being comprehensively beaten, they now play host to an Everton side who got off to the perfect start under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-1 Everton

Norwich vs Tottenham

Norwich now have the unwanted accolade of being bottom of the Premier League table and although the Canaries have looked easy on the eye this season, naivety has been their ultimate undoing all too often.

That said, they have been a handful for teams at Carrow Road and they will hope for more the same this weekend, as they play host to a Tottenham side whose top four hopes were revitalised on Boxing Day.

Prediction: Norwich 2-3 Tottenham

West Ham vs Leicester

Are West Ham too big a club to go down? The answer to that is absolutely not and if performances do not pick up soon, then the Hammers board may then decide that a change of managerial personnel is required.

The East London outfit play host to a Leicester side that were thumped by Liverpool on Boxing Day and now the objective is to make sure that a top four finish is secured come next May.

Prediction: West Ham 0-2 Leicester

Burnley vs Manchester United

Burnley are never going to be a team that gets a huge run of results under their belt. However, they will do enough to keep their heads above water and on the evidence of their current league position, the Clarets seem to be swimming with the tide.

Sean Dyche's men play host to Manchester United on Saturday and with the Red Devils making light work of Newcastle, they will be looking for nothing less than maximum points this weekend.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Manchester United

Arsenal vs Chelsea

With Mikel Arteta now firmly installed at the Arsenal helm, the first objective will be to pick up an inaugural win for the Gunners and after failing to do so on Boxing Day, the attention now turns to Chelsea this Sunday.

The Blues have once again opened the door to the top four and although they are much stronger away from home, this has all the hallmarks of a very tight London derby.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea

Liverpool vs Wolves

Is 2020 going to be Liverpool's year? To be honest, it is going to have to take the biggest collapse in Premier League history for it not to be and although the club are not popping champagne corks just yet, they must know that the job is already done.

However, failure to focus on the job in hand, is something that could easily lead to drop points and if that is the case, Wolves will be ready and waiting to cause an upset on Sunday.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Wolves

Manchester City vs Sheffield United

We're now at the point, where it is pretty much Champions League or bust for Manchester City and with Pep Guardiola's hopes of winning a third successive Premier League title all but finished, these games have a slight element of going through the motions.

If that is the case, then Sheffield United will be more than happy to pick up a few points at the Etihad on Sunday and with the way Chris Wilder's men have been playing as of late, never say never.
