Wolves vs Chelsea
A midweek set of fixtures is very quickly on the horizon and getting us underway is the meeting between Wolves and Chelsea. Both teams lost at the weekend and will therefore be looking to return to winning ways.
For Tuesday's hosts, it seems their worst fears regarding their attack have come true and with no Raul Jimenez, there is no focal point. While for Chelsea, it was a night to forget on Merseyside, as they lost 1-0 to Everton.
Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Chelsea
Manchester City vs West Brom
Are Manchester City bored? That's the question many are asking and for anyone unfortunate enough to have watched their derby clash with Manchester United last Saturday, they certainly would have been bored stiff come full time.
Will the entertainment be any greater on Tuesday? That's the next question being asked, as they play host to West Brom and after dropping points last time out, only three will do this time for City.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 West Brom
Arsenal vs Southampton
After losing to Burnley on Sunday, you do wonder if things can get any worse for Arsenal and when you look at their upcoming fixtures over the festive period, then things can certainly get worse for Mikel Arteta's men.
This Wednesday sees them play host to Southampton and with the Saints lying fourth in the table, Ralph Hasenhuttl and his players will be confident of picking up another win in midweek.
Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Southampton
Leeds vs Newcastle
Are Leeds unlucky or are they being rewarded for their efforts accordingly. For many, the belief lies with the former but to be honest, there is an element of pundits and punters being seduced by all things Marcelo Bielsa.
His Leeds charges play host to Newcastle on Wednesday and with the Magpies picking up back-to-back league wins, Steve Bruce will see no reason why a third cannot be collected for good measure.
Predictions: Leeds 1-1 Newcastle
Leicester vs Everton
Leicester seem to be the biggest benefactors of what was a crazy weekend of results and with Liverpool playing host to Tottenham on Wednesday, the Foxes could find themselves top of table with the right combination of results.
A combination that needs them to beat Everton and a draw to be ground out at Anfield. However, the Toffees might have other ideas and will look to build on their impressive win over Chelsea.
Predictions: Leicester 2-1 Everton
Liverpool vs Tottenham
With both teams dropping points on Sunday, there is a sense that we are where we still are, and this means Liverpool find themselves second before kick-off and looking to overhaul they team that they host on Wednesday.
A top of the table clash, that sees Tottenham as the opposition and after dropping points away to Crystal Palace, this is the perfect opportunity to right the wrongs of Selhurst Park.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham
Fulham vs Brighton
Fulham must have thought a good weekend was had by the time they drew with Liverpool at Craven Cottage. Unfortunately, they then saw Burnley get the better of Arsenal and because of that Scott Parker's men now sit in the bottom three.
This Wednesday they play host to Brighton and with Graham Potter's men just hovering over what looks being the relegation battle, a win in West London could see them pull clear of any trouble.
Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Brighton
West Ham vs Crystal Palace
Not many would have expected the Hammers to be lying sixth in the table at this point of this season and if we're being brutally honest neither would have their manager David Moyes. With that said though, a lot of credit must be given to the former Manchester United and Everton manager.
However, credit does not win you league points and with a buoyant Crystal Palace making the short trip across the capital, this has all the potential hallmarks of being another feisty London derby.
Prediction: West Ham 2-1 Crystal Palace
Aston Villa vs Burnley
For all the talk of title challengers and European contenders, Aston Villa could serve to be the dark horse in all of this and with two games in hand over the teams surrounding them, they could potentially thrust themselves into the mix soon.
To do so, they will need to win the games that are scheduled with the rest and that means getting the better of a Burnley side, who will be in jubilant mood after putting Arsenal to the sword on Sunday.
Predictions: Aston Villa 1-0 Burnley
Sheffield United vs Manchester United
What else is there left to say about Sheffield United in their current plight, as things seemingly worsen by the week and with Chris Wilder seemingly running out of ideas, is the Blades manager also running out of time at Bramall Lane?
While time is a precious commodity for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and after exiting the Champions League and following it up with a drab Manchester derby encounter last Saturday, it might be a case of win or bust.
Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Manchester United
