BAGGIES BOUNCE TO A DRAW

As we go into week eight of the Premier League season, West Brom are still searching for their first win of the campaign and with Tottenham providing their next opposition, they may have to wait until after the international break for such a positive result.

However, there is still reason to be optimistic and that is because of the tight fixture scheduling that Jose Mourinho's men will have to deal with over the next few days, as they prepare for a Sunday lunchtime kick off in the West Midlands.

A date that comes after a trip to Bulgaria on Thursday evening and although Spurs certainly possess the players to deal with such a quick turnover in competitive fixtures, this may prove to be something of a hurdle.

When you consider that this is usually something of a bogey ground for Tottenham and the fixture circumstances that they have been handed, a win for the North London outfit is far from a given and this could prove to be the first away dropped points of the season.

Which if it is, will be an obvious source of frustration and especially as the team that are currently third in the table, then have three incredibly tough fixtures in a row on the other side of the November international break.

However, West Brom or not, there's a sense that Tottenham may just fail to put their hosts to the sword and with that in mind, the smart money seems to be on honours being even come early Sunday afternoon.

WEST HAM ON EASY STREET

Will things now get easier for West Ham? David Moyes will certainly hope so and with the fixture computer now applying an easier program for the Hammers, the former Everton manager will be hoping his players start to put some wins on the board.

Because it stands to reason, that if they have held their own against the best the league has to offer and also earned points for their efforts, they should be able to make light work of the opposition that goes in front of them in the next few weeks.

Starting with Fulham this weekend and although Scott Parker's men picked up a first league win of the season on Monday, one must temper that slightly by saying “yes fair enough, but it was only West Brom”

While that is not to discredit the Baggies in any shape or form, it does suggest that Fulham will need to bring their best to the London Stadium and even if they do, it might not be enough for the Cottagers to come out on top.

Which means this should be the fixture that puts West Ham further into the middle bracket of teams in the Premier League table, rather than be sucked into the dirty half-dozen that currently sits below them.

BLUES BLUNT THE BLADES

Two away days, four points, three goals and a couple of clean sheets. All in all, it has not been too bad a mini holiday for Frank Lampard's men and although the draw with Manchester United was a tough watch, they were far more flowing against Burnley last weekend.

Of course, Burnley were a team that is looking for their first win of the season and that is exact same scenario that Sheffield United also find themselves, as we go into week eight of this new Premier League campaign.

The Blades gave an honest account of themselves at home to Manchester City last weekend, but honesty is not enough in the battle for points and it is points, that Chris Wilder's men are severely lacking right now.

They've just accrued one for their efforts thus far and for all their pluckiness last season, it is an attribute that has been seriously lacking this time around, as the hunt for goals has been largely fruitless.

That has certainly not been the case as far as Chelsea are concerned and now that they have switched their goalkeeping personnel, they are starting to look like the team that everyone expected them to be at the start of the season. Which means all signs point to a Blues home win on Saturday.
