Betting Tips for Premier League - Gameweek 4

Share post on:

FOXES MAKE IT FOUR

When Leicester threw away their hopes of a Champions League return at the end of last season, many felt it could have been difficult for them to get off to a good start this time around and after three wins from as many matches, that potential theory has been well and truly debunked.

The Foxes put five past a hapless Manchester City last Sunday and with that they occupy top spot at the start of this Premier League weekend, as they get ready for the visit of a West Ham side who picked up their first win of the season that same day.

David Moyes highlighted the benefits of working from home, as the Hammers put an incredible four unanswered goals past Wolves and with that win, the East London outfit have surged up to 11th in the table.

Of course, the actual table does not mean all that much in this early phase of proceedings and we should not read too much into the current placings. Although, the fact that the Hammers are off the mark, will no doubt be a confidence boost to all connected with the club.

Will that confidence be misplaced come the weekend, as they make the trip to the King Power? You get the feeling it might and even with Jamie Vardy being a doubt for the home side, Leicester should have enough to deal with whatever threat is thrown their way.
Summary: Back Leicester to win at 1.67

TOFFEES FIND WINS MOREISH

Another team that is currently three wins from three are Everton and with the Goodison Park outfit off to a flying start, the hope, if not the expectation is that they continue their early run to four wins by the end of Saturday.

To do so, they will need to get the better of a Brighton side who were caught up in penalty controversy last weekend and after seeing what could be a valuable point snatched away, Graham Potter's men will look to bounce back on Merseyside.

It really was a case of ‘how's your luck' for Brighton, as they hit the woodwork an incredible five times against Manchester United and although that would have caused all manner of frustration, it does show that attacking endeavour is available to the Seagulls.

At the same time, that endeavour or handball drama has not passed Everton by either and with them being on the more fortunate side of a decision last weekend, Carlo Ancelotti will hope that a win against Brighton is far simpler than the recent success against Palace.

It might be too early to suggest that this is the season that Everton break the glass ceiling, although if they keep wracking up early wins and setting the pace, that suggestion might not seem so absurd after all.
Summary: Back Everton at 1.75

LIVERPOOL LAY DOWN A MARKER

While the third and final team on cloud nine in terms of points are Liverpool and after clearing the hurdles of both Chelsea and Arsenal, it seems as if Jurgen Klopp and his players are already laying down something of a Premier League title marker.

Because not only are they on maximum points, but they are the only club in the “big six” to have such a haul and with the others dropping off behind them, it looks as if they will once again be the team to beat.

Of course, because it is week four of the season, we cannot make assumptions that could be considered sweeping. However, on the evidence of what we have already seen, there is little suggestion of the Reds dropping off in terms of performance.

This Sunday sees the defending champions travel to Villa Park in the hunt for a fourth straight league win and although Aston Villa have started the season brightly, the visit of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and company will prove to be the sternest test yet.

With that said, it will be encouraging to Dean Smith that his players have got the better of both Sheffield United and Fulham and because of the opposition, this game resembles a free hit on Sunday. Unfortunately, it will not be a lucky token that they make good use of.
Prediction: Back Liverpool to win at 1.30
