CHELSEA BOUNCE BACK

After Chelsea's transfer business was lauded in the off-season, Frank Lampard's new look team got off to the perfect start against Brighton and in that game, they will have laid down an early marker in terms of their top four or even title challenge hopes.

A marker that will have been ripped out of the ground after being beaten by Liverpool and with ‘keeper Kepa once again serving up another goal to the opposition, it is clear to see where the weak link lies for the Blues.

After another hapless showing at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Lampard will surely be accelerated back into the market in order to find another shot stopper and if that business can be concluded before the close of October's window, it could well be the missing link for the West Londoners.

While if Chelsea have woes in between their goal, then West Brom are having issues keeping them out and after conceding eight in their first two offerings of this campaign, it looks like it could be a very long season for Slaven Bilic's men.

Admittedly the early season fixture list has not been kind to them, as Leicester and Everton have posed the opposition and of course, a visit of Chelsea is no kinder. With that mind, it is incredibly difficult to look past an away win this Saturday.

THREE AND WIN FOR EVERTON

Two of the very early pacesetters meet on Saturday, as Crystal Palace host Everton and with both clubs picking up the maximum six points available, something will have to give at Selhurst Park this weekend.

For Palace, it has been back to back wins over both Southampton and Manchester United and if the former was a solid start to the season, the latter would have been an insight to the marked improvement that has taken place in South London.

After such a poor end to last season, there were questions regarding the long-term future of Roy Hodgson and although it would have been easy to part company in the form of an amicable divorce, the decision to stick with the former England boss has paid dividends.

They play host to an Everton side who laid down something of a marker against Tottenham in their opening outing and after sluggish start against West Brom, they would eventually go up through the gears and score five at Goodison Park last Saturday.

The impressive showing by the likes of Richarlison and Dominic-Calvert Lewin last weekend, suggests that the Toffees may have that extra edge at the weekend and with the odds you can get, it does present a decent amount of value for an away win.

MOUR TO COME FOR TOTTENHAM

In both league and cup competition, it is fair to say that Tottenham have been far from great at the start of the season and the fact that they scored five against Southampton last week almost mask this fact.

With that said, one should not forget that they did score five against Southampton and with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son showing just how deadly their combination play can be, the future does bode well for the North London outfit.

Of course, there is also the small matter of Gareth Bale to join the fold next month and although he will not feature for the visit of Newcastle, the mere presence of him around the club will provide his new teammates a timely boost.

A boost that Newcastle will be looking for themselves and after a bright start to the season against West Ham, Steve Bruce's men all but reverted to type against Brighton last Sunday, as they lost by three goals to nil.

This time last year, a lesser spotted Joelinton goal was the difference as Newcastle took maximum points in Tottenham's new home. This time though, I don't expect the hosts to be so welcoming and therefore a home win is where the smart money should go.
