Betting Tips for Premier League - Gameweek 29

A SOUTH COAST SIX POINTER

We are officially at the point of the season where we can talk about ‘six-pointers' and thankfully one of those is appearing on the horizon this weekend, as struggling Brighton play home to fellow relegation rivals Newcastle.

While although both teams are certainly up against it at present, the survival pendulum has at least swung back in their favour and that comes courtesy of the Seagulls and the Magpies picking up points last weekend.

For Brighton, much has been made about their luck in recent times or perhaps, the lack thereof and after getting the better of Southampton last Sunday, they certainly did not have to rely on good fortune.

It was a measured performance by Graham Potter's men and one that puts a buffer between themselves and Fulham in the battle to avoid the drop a buffer that they will look to increase this weekend.

Of course, Newcastle's efforts of last weekend should not be forgotten and when it looked like Aston Villa would take maximum points back to the West Midlands, Steve Bruce's men created an equaliser in the last seconds of the game.

This means Brighton and Newcastle are three and a single point clear of Fulham respectively and although a draw would both add to their tallies, you get the feeling that a draw doesn't really help either party.

Therefore, all signs point to win at all costs and with Newcastle's attacking concerns as of late, this may be a step too far. With that in mind, the most sensible option is to back Brighton to win at home.
Summary: Back Brighton at 1.65

CAN SPURS BOUNCE BACK?

With Tottenham suffering defeat in last Sunday's North London derby, it is fair to say that the wind will have been taken out of their sails and of course, it is not just local bragging rights that were up for grabs in that game.

Due to results going their way the day before, it was almost set in the stars for Tottenham to take full advantage of mishap elsewhere. Then again, if there is ever a club that knows how to shoot itself in the foot, it is they.

Which means, Jose Mourinho's men have spurned a huge opportunity to close the gap in the race for a Champions League place and with the race running out of laps, they will now be considered one of the outsiders.

With 10 games left of the Premier League season remaining, Tottenham arguably have no more lives left and if they are to lose one more encounter, they may as well toss all their eggs into a Europa League basket.

The first step of this 10-point challenge starts this Sunday, as they travel to Aston Villa and although they do so without Heung-min Son, they will be considered decent value to return to London with maximum points.
Summary: Back Tottenham at 2.38

ANOTHER LONDON DERBY

While although West Ham vs Arsenal is not as fierce in the London derby stakes, this is an encounter that will still be hotly contested and especially, as the Hammers need to make sure their season does not collapse in the final furlong.

Two defeats in their last three league outings would suggest that West Ham are just beginning to run out of steam and if they are to fulfil their dream of playing in Europe next season, they will have to find an ignition spark.

A spark that manager David Moyes will hope appears this weekend, as they prepare for the visit of Arsenal and with the Gunners in buoyant mood after last Sunday's success against Tottenham, Mikel Areta will hope his players build on such a performance.

The Gunners may be focusing on purely their Europa League exploits, although that is not to dismiss the importance of their domestic output and the higher they finish up the table, the more prize money the club will receive.

Prize money that Mikel Arteta will hope is transferred into transfer budget at the end of the season and therefore, Arsenal will be primed and ready to win this one. Which means, they should be considered for your weekend betting activity.
Summary: Back the Arsenal at 2.50
