Betting Tips for Premier League - Gameweek 16

Share post on:

First up a huge apology. Because in the previous betting tips article, we offered up “a very simple double”. One that you should put “the house on” and unfortunately, if you did such a thing, then you along with us have just been ALLARDYCE'd.

The bookies must have been laughing at that one and now it is time to wipe the smiles off their collective faces and aim to get the better of them over the next few days of enthralling Premier League action.

CLARET SPILLED AGAINST THE BLADES

Although Sean Dyche is usually quite hoarse when it comes to his voice, his vocal cords must have come under an almighty strain on Sunday and after some poor refereeing at Elland Road, the Burnley boss would have had every right to be aggrieved.

However, defeat to Leeds is now in the history books and although Dyche will continue to lambast the officials in the run up to the visit of Sheffield United, his focus should really be placed on such an encounter.

Because this could provide Burnley with the perfect opportunity, to not only bounce back from defeat but also put more daylight between themselves and those outfits that currently find themselves in the bottom three.

One of those outfits is Sheffield United and when you consider that the Blades have not won any of their last 18 league outings (three last season, 15 this), there is a sense that the rot has really set in at Bramall Lane.

With that said, the board still seem to be backing Chris Wilder for now. Then again, for each additional occasion that they fail to win, it seems as if they are already becoming resigned to their collective relegation fate.
Summary: Back Burnley to beat Sheffield United at 2.40

GUNNERS NOW START FIRING

Was that finally the win that gets things going at the Emirates? Manager Mikel Arteta will certainly hope so and after such a showing against Chelsea, the Spaniard will be asking himself just where such a performance has been hiding.

With that said, now is not the time for Arsenal to rest on their laurels and with a trip to Brighton in the offing, this is not necessarily a ground where the Gunners can just turn up and earn all three points.

Of course, at the tail end of last season, the Gunners turned up to The Amex and came away empty handed, and it is for that reason, that Brighton manager Graham Potter will be confident of upsetting the North London outfit once again.

The Seagulls have drawn their last three league outings and although this suggests that they are a tough nut to crack, it also points to a lack of cutting edge something that Arsenal will look to take full advantage of.

This might not be a pretty win, but after firing on all cylinders against Chelsea, now is the time for Arsenal to roll up their sleeves and if they do, they will manage to pick up a vital win in the battle to avoid relegation.
Summary: Back Arsenal to win at 2.30

MANCHESTER UNITED ON CLOUD NINE

Manchester United were minutes away from getting the better of Leicester on Boxing Day and although they had to settle for a 2-2 draw and an eventual drop to fourth in the Premier League table, they have at least extended their unbeaten run to eight matches.

A figure that they will look to extend to nine, as they prepare for the visit of Wolves and with Nuno Espirito Santo's men snatching a point at home to Tottenham, they will now look to bloody the nose of another top tier club.

With that said, it will certainly be easier said than done for Wolves on Tuesday and although United will largely be unfancied, they are becoming a louder voice in the conversation regarding the title race.

A voice, that if they can come out on top at Old Trafford, will only increase in decibels and when you consider that the Red Devils also have a game in hand over Liverpool, they could in the best place to mount a genuine title tilt.
Summary: Back Manchester United to win at 1.57
