REDS MARCH ON IN SOUTH LONDON
With a third of the season now in the history books, the future is looking to the past and with Liverpool now back at the top of the Premier League, one wonders if anyone will be able to remove them from the summit.
After getting the better of Tottenham on Wednesday in dramatic fashion, Jurgen Klopp's men will look for further joy against London opposition, as they travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday to face Crystal Palace.
The Merseyside outfit are now the form team in the division and with no defeat in their last nine league outings, you get the feeling that this red footballing juggernaut, is one that is now starting to work its way up through the gears.
While looking to put a spanner in the works are the Eagles, who are not necessarily soaring of late but at the same time are looking a tougher nut to crack and with five points from the last nine on offer, they will at least offer some test to the new league leaders.
Not only that, but they were more than a match for Tottenham a week or so ago and if they can replicate that level of performance, they will certainly give the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah a headache.
However, Liverpool are never a pushover and arguably have that little extra quality that Tottenham do not possess and therefore, an away win should be on the cards this Saturday. While should this be the case, the bookmakers will offer up odds of 1.53 for your efforts.
Prediction: Back Liverpool to win at Selhurst Park
TIME TO BOUNCE BACK
There's no doubt that suffering such a late loss to Liverpool would have been galling for Jose Mourinho and his players and with that now just a mere footnote in history, it will be interesting to see just how the North London outfit bounce back.
Because if they have any genuine hopes of winning the Premier League this season, they will need to bounce back as soon as possible and with Leicester providing the opposition on Sunday, that is easier said than done.
The Foxes suffered defeat to Everton on Wednesday night, a result that was something of a surprise in fairness and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, will also have designs on being in the title race at the turn of the year.
Which means they will be just as keen to win this encounter and improve on the meek showing that they turned in at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, one that scuppered their hopes of a top four finish at the end of it.
For Tottenham, they have not quite clicked since winning the North London derby and after setting the pace early on, they are now playing catchup. While for Leicester, their inability to draw has seen them cede ground to their nearest rivals.
It will certainly be an entertaining clash between these two sides and there is still a large amount of needle involved after Leicester's 2016 Premier League success. However, the smart money goes on backing Tottenham to win this weekend.
Summary: Back Spurs at 2.10
WON'T BE SEEING GOALS AT THE AMEX
Brighton play host to Sheffield United this Sunday lunchtime and with both teams seemingly down on their luck at present, the respective managers will hope that fortune favours them at the Amex come full time.
For Graham Potter, he has not seen his players win any of their last four league outings and although they have been labelled unlucky at times, you get the feeling that their performances are now starting to deserve the points that they've earned.
While when it comes to Sheffield United, they've had no luck at all and with the Blades only picking up one point from the first 39 on offer, the mathematicians are already do the relegation sums before Christmas has even arrived.
Both teams are relatively low on confidence or in Sheffield United's case they have none and especially in front of goal. Which means, backing Under 2.5 total goals on the South Coast seems the shrewdest bet of all.
Summary: Back Under 2.5 total goals at 1.67
