Gameweek 4 FPL Tips Daily Fantasy Football

Share post on:
Chelsea finally got their first three points of the season, and be honest who thought it would take them three weeks to get them? Elsewhere, Xherdan Shaqiri made his Stoke debut, Spurs let another lead slip and Callum Wilson put three past West Ham. It seems the amount of using their wildcards is rising each week and managers are finding the best way possible to fit the little magician Sergio Aguero into their side. There are a lot of questions being asked,Will Wayne Rooney stay after his midweek hat trick? Will Harry Kane finally start scoring? Will a Chelsea defender keep a clean sheet? We are here to try our best to answer them questions. So without further ado, here's our Gameeweek 4 Daily Fantasy Football tips, focusing on FPL and the daily games provided by Mondogoal & FantasyBet.

Fixtures

Saturday 29th August: Newcastle v Arsenal Aston Villa v Sunderland Bournemouth v Leicester Chelsea v Crystal Palace Liverpool v West Ham Man City v Watford Stoke v West Brom Spurs v Everton Sunday 30th August: Southampton v Norwich Swansea v Man United

Clean Sheet Potential

The bookies across the country are indicating that Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Stoke are the five most likely teams to keep a clean sheet during Gameweek 4. With that in mind you could certainly do a lot worse than just selecting defenders from the team above should it work for your fantasy team(s) financially.

Goalkeeper Tips

This season Manchester City are yet to concede a Premier League goal, one of the reasons for this is goalkeeper Joe Hart (FPL:5.6m, Mondogoal:9.5m, FantasyBet:5.5m) The Englishman has been in fantastic form this season and there are arguments he is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. Last seasons golden glove winner remains the number one choice for Manuel Pellegrini this season and if he continues his fine form he wont be losing his place any time soon. City welcome Watford this season and without causing any disrespect to Watford fans, Joe Hart should be looking to keep a clean sheet in that game. Moving onto another English keeper this time Jack Butland (FPL:4.5m, Mondogoal:6.4m, FantasyBet:4.5m) whilst Stoke are yet to keep a clean sheet this season his form last week ensured his side took a point away from Carrow Road. Butland made save after save after save in what was probably his best game of his career. This weekend Stoke play hosts to West Brom, a side they should be looking to shut out this Saturday. We end our goalkeeping tips with Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet (FPL:5.0m, Mondogoal:8.8m, FantasyBet:5.0m) who so far this season looks a vastly improved player from his previous campaigns in a Liverpool shirt. He is yet to concede a goal this season and was impressive in the Monday Night Football scoreless draw away to Arsenal. Liverpool welcome West Ham come Saturday and with the Hammers striker crisis we could see another clean sheet for the Belgian.

Defender Tips

When Liverpool signed Joe Gomez (FPL:4.7m, Mondogoal:6.5m, FantasyBet:4.5m) many expected the youngster to be loaned out somewhere to continue his development. His form in pre season prevented this as his performances impressed manger Brendan Rodgers. He's now the first choice left back ahead of Alberto Moreno and so far this season has been almost faultless. We say almost as he has picked up a booking in each of the games he's played this season. His form hasn't gone unnoticed as Gomez was rewarded with his first call up to the England U21 squad. Another left back who was been in faultless this season is Manchester City's Alexander Kolarov (FPL:5.7m, Mondogoal:10.5m, FantasyBet:5.5m) The Serbian now looks to be the first choice on the left ahead of Gael Clichy. So far this season he has scored one goal and kept three clean sheets. It's his understanding with Raheem Sterling that makes him stand out, his overlapping runs and linkup play are causing opposition defenders problems. As we know with Kolarov his left foot is a wand both from open play and dead ball situations, we wouldn't be suprised to see Kolarov contribute another goal or assist this weekend. Chelsea really have been all over the place at the back this season and with John Terry suspended this gives Kurt Zouma (FPL:5.5m, Mondogoal:6.4m, FantasyBet:5.5m) the perfect chance to impress Jose Mourinho and possibly nail down a starting place ahead of either Terry or Gary Cahill. Whenever the Frenchman has played he's been impressive, a no nonsense defender whose good with the ball at his feet and times a tackle well. He also is a threat from set pieces. Chelsea have to keep a clean sheet sooner or later right? Crystal Palace at home this weekend gives them the perfect chance to do this before the international break. Another sides defence that hasn't been up to scratch is Southampton. After the departure of Nathaniel Clyne the Saints' replaced him with Cedric Soares (FPL:5.0m, Mondogoal:7.0m, FantasyBet:5.5m) he's been one of the better Southampton players and will be looking to keep back to back clean sheets this weekend when he faces Norwich at home. Much has been made in the European press about Cedric's ability both attacking and defensively. He already has one assist to his name and will be hoping to add to that tally this weekend. The final defender tip comes from Aston Villa, yes you heard right Aston Villa! Their new signing Jordan Amavi (FPL:5.0m, Mondogoal:6.8m, FantasyBet:5.0m) has been the standout star for the Villa. He's very good going forward and is also good in a tackle. Amavi loves to get forward, that combined with his pinpoint crossing makes him a constant danger down the left for Aston Villa. Tim Sherwood's side welcome fellow relegation candidates Sunderland this weekend a game Sherwood will be looking to win.

Attacking Potential

Another look at the bookies odds suggest that, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are the five most likely teams to score. Aston Villa and Bournemouth coming in at joint sixth, both of these sides could provide some budget options going forward. Formulating the basis of your attack around these teams seems the logical way to go.

Midfielder Tips

There have been some impressive debuts in Premier League history, Sergio Aguero scored twice on his against Swansea whilst Fabrizio Ravanelli scored three on his for Middlesbrough. Chelsea new boy Pedro (FPL:9.5m, Mondogoal:6.2m, FantasyBet:9.5m) put himself amongst that list with a goal and assist on his debut against West Brom. The Spanish winger brings natural width and pace to Stamford Bridge and will be looking to impress in his first game at the Bridge this weekend against Crystal Palace. He's played before with the likes of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas an understanding that could be important for Chelsea this season. Another debutant who impressed this weekend was Xherdan Shaqiri (FPL:7.0m, Mondogoal:11.1m, FantasyBet:7.0m) of Stoke. He picked up his first assist of the season within 11 minutes of making his debut. His career so far speaks for himself, he quite obviously has talent and ability having played for Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. He will be looking to find a home and settle at Stoke City after jumping around Europe in the last few years. Stoke face West Brom this weekend, a player of Shaqiri's ability should be looking to create a handful of chances. It would just be wrong to not mention any Manchester City midfielders in this article so why not bring you two? First is Yaya Toure (FPL:8.8m, Mondogoal:14.0m, FantasyBet:8.5m) who has been showing fans that he's not finished just yet. He currently has two goals and two assists to his name and his lung bursting runs and almost effortless passes are showing that Manchester City mean business. Another City midfielder whose showing just how good he is , is David Silva (FPL:10.1m, Mondogoal:14.2m, FantasyBet:10.0m) whilst the little magician is yet to score this season he does have three assists to his name and with Sergio Aguero looking in formidable form (more on that later) Silva has the perfect chance to add to his tally this weekend. Okay, hands up who else is on the Riyad Mahrez (FPL:5.5m, Mondogoal:10.1m, FantasyBet:6.0m) bandwagon? The Algerian midfielder has probably been the player of the season, all be it after three games. He currently has scored four goals this season and will be hoping to add to that away to Bournemouth. Mahrez adds pace and directness to the Leicester City line up, and if he continues his form we may just start copy and pasting him into theses weekly tips. Ross Barkley (FPL:6.6m, Mondogoal:9.3m, FantasyBet:6.5m) has been showing the world just how good he can be and this time on a consistent basis. With two assist and one goal to his name Barkley looks to be finally reaching the potential we all know he has. He comes up against Spurs this weekend who as we all know are very poor defensively, if Barkley can pick up the spaces in the defences and create some danger he could be a clever pick for Gameweek 4. Another English player whose been on form this season is Nathan Redmond (FPL:5.6m, Mondogoal:7.7m, FantasyBet:5.5m) the Norwich winger has scored two goals and assisted one so far this season. He brings pace and creativity to Norwich and isn't scared to shoot when needed. His fixture this weekend is tough in the shape of Southampton away but if Redmond shows up then he will be a danger.

Forward Tips

Well, it was only a matter of time before Sergio Aguero (FPL:13.2m, Mondogoal:13.7m, FantasyBet:13.0m) ownership would rise, and with Manchester City playing Watford at home he could well grab himself a handful of goals. We all know how good he is and it's hard to say something new about the little Argentine. One thing is for sure though, this season Aguero looks a different player and for the better. He looks to be sharper and quicker something that the Watford defenders are not used to playing against. Romelu Lukau (FPL:8.2m, Mondogoal:9.5m, FantasyBet:8.0m) is another striker whose ownership has risen since the start of the season. He's scored two goals and created one so far this season and the Belgian looks up for the task this season. There seems to be an understanding between himself and Barkley, one that should see Lukaku's goal tally increase from last season. Everton travel to Spurs this weekend and the striker will be hoping to bully the opposition defenders and come away with a goal to his name. We've once again decided to jump on the bandwagon, and this time with Callum Wilson (FPL:5.5m, Mondogoal:7.1m, FantasyBet:5.5m) the Bournemouth striker was the player of the weekend after his hat trick away to West Ham. His pace is a massive asset to his game and something that Bournemouth will look to use this weekend against Leicester. Now although Leicester are yet to lose they do look weak defensively, Eddie Howe will need his star striker to be on form if they are to take anything away from this game. Diego Costa (FPL:11.0m, Mondogoal:10.1m, FantasyBet:11.0m) grabbed his first goal of the season against West Brom and with the addition of Pedro we can only see the amount of chances the striker gets increasing. Chelsea will be looking to put on a show at Stamford Bridge this weekend when they welcome Crystal Palace. Costa is going to have to be on top of his game but after his goal against West Brom he will be hungry for more.
