Gameweek 14 Fantasy Ligue 1 Tips - Daily Fantasy Football Tips

Given the recent events in Paris, we feel the best way to approach this article is to let the words of others commemorate such an overwhelming tragedy. Football can and will help people get through these tough times. “More than ever now, sport knows no colour, no religion. All are welcome in sport. It's about diversity in every aspect. It's a way of uniting people and it's important it continues to do that.” ~Didier Deschamps “The football world has responded the way you want it to respond, in a big union and togetherness.” ~Arsene Wenger “In this climate of terror, it is important for us all, who are representatives of our country and our diversity, to speak out and stay united in the face of a terror that has nothing to do with colour or religion,” ~Lassana Diarra
Here are the Gameweek 14 fixtures and NaturalFootballFan's recommendations for the weekends Mondogoal contests.

  3. Caen
  4. Montpellier
  5. Rennes

Goalkeeper Tips

Saturday: First up in our weekend selection is Danijel Subasic (9.3m). Monaco were left embarrassed after their 3-1 loss to Bordeaux a couple of weeks ago. This will have unsettled them slightly; nevertheless, knowing their style of play, they will use this setback as an incentive to keep things solid at the back vs. Nantes. Monaco are unbeaten in 19 of their last 21 home matches in Ligue 1, while there's been under 2.5 goals scored in each of their last 3 home matches. They are always a reliable option, with home advantage. Sunday: To be honest, there is not much scope for a cleansheet on Sunday; however we feel the best option is Remy Vercoutre (8m). Caen continue to smash expectations, they have won 4 of their last 6 matches in Ligue 1 and currently sit 3rd in the table. They host Angers, who on the other hand, have failed to score in 4 consecutive matches in all competitions. Vercoutre has picked up over 7.8 points in five of his last 6 games, along with 3 cleansheets. This highlights the fact that Caen's number 1 is capable of securing a respectable total, even without a cleansheet.

Defender Tips

Saturday: Despite Lorient being a free-scoring team, we do not feel comfortable about their prospects against the Champions. For this reason we delve into the oppositions squad to select Thiago Silva (11.1m). In our opinion he is arguably the most talented centre-back in world football at this time; so is worth splashing the cash on. The Brazilian has scored 11 goals since his move to France in 2012 and with the possibility of countless corners and free-kicks tonight, we have a hunch that he will add to this. In Lorient's previous 5 meetings with PSG they have only managed to find the net on 3 occasions, while conceding 13 in the process. Paris Saint-Germain are undefeated in their last 22 fixtures at the Parc des Princes and have secured a cleansheet in 5 of their last 7 matches in Ligue 1. We are expecting another one-sided encounter, which in turn means more passes completed and further space to work in for Thiago Silva. Sunday: To double up with our goalkeeper on Sunday, we recommend Caen's Vincent Bessat (6.3m). Classified as a defender, but converted into a left-winger this season, he is a brilliant ‘out of position' pick. We are always on the hunt for OOP players on Mondogoal and Bessat fits the bill perfectly. Playing as an advanced left-winger, he has contributed to a goal and assist this season and his overall attacking stats are impressive - especially for a so-called defender! On average per game Bessat has taken 1.7 shots, made 1.5 key passes and attempted 1.5 dribbles; if he can keep these numbers up and combine it with a cleansheet or ‘single goal' points, he could easily reach a double figure total on Mondogoal. A second ‘out of position' option for Sunday is Benjamin Andre (9.4m) of Rennes. His premium price tag will put off the majority of Mondogoal competitors, nevertheless, if you want a differential who will rake in the defender - interception, tackle and passing points from midfield, then Benjamin's your man.

Attacking Potential

  1. Paris Saint-Germain
  2. Caen
  3. Rennes
  4. Guingamp
  5. SC Bastia

Midfielder Tips

Saturday: Another Paris Saint-Germain pair is the way to go for your midfield. We recommend wingmen Lucas Moura (9.5m) and Angel Di Maria (14.3m). The bonus of picking PSG players on Saturday is that their involved in the early kick-off, which means you can be 100% sure that your players are starting. Di Maria continued to dazzle with a goal in his most recent game (5-nil over Toulouse), while substitute Lucas stole the show after being thrown into the action for the out-of-form Cavani. The athletic winger added a goal to the onslaught, while attempting an incredible 5 dribbles in his 28 minutes on the pitch. As we have stated before, the reigning Champions can outscore any side in Ligue 1 and even though Lorient have hit form, we predict PSG to overhaul them with a 2-goal deficit at least. These two will be involved in the thick of it, so get them on your Mondogoal side! Sunday: For this pick we are sticking with a controversial player, who in our case has failed to live up to his hype in recent weeks. Wahbi Kharzi (8.7m) began the season with a bang with 4 goals and 5 assists during his first 8 fixtures in Ligue 1. However, since then he has failed to contribute in any form. Even since this hiccup, Kharzi has continued to create chances with 3.2 passes and 2.1 dribbles per game on average; he just needs to be a bit more clinical in front of goal. Bordeaux travel to Rennes on the back of an impressive 3-1 victory over Monaco. This will have given them a huge morale boost and we are predicting Kharzi to finally rediscover his best form and punish ‘The Red and Blacks'.

Forward Tips

Saturday: Here we are again, ‘The Zlatan Ibrahimovic (17.8m) slot'. The Swede returns from International duty where he fired in 3 goals in 2 games to help his country progress through the EURO play-offs. In his own words “I don't want to miss the European Championship, its unlikely and unthinkable for me to see this tournament ongoing without me”! Well it's time for Zlatan to shift his thinking back to domestic form and with 2 goals and an assist in the 5-nil drubbing of Toulouse; he certainly boasts a positive outlook. Sunday: Again we look to 3rd placed Caen for our forward pick on Sunday. Don't try to be clever here, go for the obvious choice in Andy Delort (6.3m). The Australian's main asset is his shoot-on-sight style, which has seen him rack up an average of 4.8 shots per game, as well as the most shots on target in Ligue 1 this season. With this in mind it's no surprise that Delort averages 8.8 points per game on Mondogoal, despite finding the net on just 4 occasions. Caen face a wounded Angers side who, although still situated inside the top 4, are without a win or a goal in their last 4 fixtures. We predict Delort to test their keeper on a handful of occasions and hopefully get on the scoresheet. At this price, he is a must-have.
