Gameweek 12 Fantasy Ligue 1 Tips - Daily Fantasy Football Tips

NaturalFootballFan returns with his latest Ligue 1 Fantasy Football Tips for Mondogoal.

Gameweek 11's Tips were, on the whole, very successful. Both of our goalkeeper recommendations (Trapp & Carrasso) secured solid totals of 8.8 and 9.8 points respectively. In defence (Marquinhos & Andreu) picked up 6.7 and 6.9 points, the latter securing a cleansheet. Onto the midfield, and this is where our chosen personnel begun to stutter. The in-form Ben Arfa was left frustrated with a total of 5.05 and Bordeaux's Kharzi was unable to compensate for his red card last Thursday, with a disappointing 5.59 points, by his standards. Nevertheless, our frontline advice of pairing Ibrahimovic with Waris did a good job of reinvigorating our tips with a goal apiece and 30.64 points between them on Mondogoal. Moving onto Gameweek 12, we aim to provide a similar output, with the hope that YOUR side can top the contests at Mondogoal with our help. Here are the fixtures and our recommendations. Note: Due to Mondogoal hosting separate tournaments for the Saturday and Sunday fixtures, we have slightly altered our layout to suit this. We now bring you two player-tips for each position; one to cover Saturday and the other for the Sunday.

Fixtures

Saturday 24th October Saint-Etienne vs. Reims (*Early KO Check Lineups*) Toulouse vs. Montpellier Troyes vs. Lyon SC Bastia vs. Caen GFC Ajaccio vs. Bordeaux Guingamp vs. Lorient Sunday 25th October Nice vs. Lille (*Early KO Check Lineups*) Monaco vs. Angers Nantes vs. Marseille

Cleansheet Potential

  1. Monaco
  2. Lyon
  3. Saint-Etienne
  4. Marseille
  5. Nice

Goalkeeper Tips

Saturday: To kick things off between the sticks is Anthony Lopes (8.9m). The Lyon keeper is our favourite to secure a cleansheet on Saturday and when playing bottom of the table Troyes, who have failed to score in 5 of their last 6 matches in Ligue 1, it's not hard to tell why we are backing Lopes. Despite his young age (25), especially for a goalkeeper, he has already established himself as Lyon's present and perhaps future number 1 for the best part of a decade. Lopes, although French-born, has also begun edging his way into the Portugal setup, making his competitive debut earlier this year. At just 6ft in height Lopes is a relatively small keeper, but similar to Real Madrid's Keylor Navas, he possesses superb flexibility. Against Troyes we are not expecting Lopes to pick up countless ‘save points' on Mondogoal, however, a cleansheet and with it 6 points will do just fine. Sunday: Our pick of the bunch from Sunday's fixtures is Danijel Subasic (10.1m). Monaco are a strong force on home turf, undefeated in 18 of their last 20 matches at the Stade Louis II and Subasic is odds on to lock down his third cleansheet in succession. They host Angers, a side who are currently punching above their weight in second place but have now failed to score in back-to-back matches. At 10.1m it might be the case that Subasic will have a low ownership on Mondogoal; so by biting the bullet and placing your faith in the Croatian you have the chance to form a gap above your opponents who were unwilling to pay such a price. Yes, Subasic will take a big chunk out of your budget; however, passing Monaco when they have a home fixture is a brave move in itself.

Defender Tips

Saturday: Moving onto the defence and with such excellent options for Saturday it was hard to round it down to one, but in the end Lyon's mr consistent Christophe Jallet (10.3m) earned his place in our lineup. Since his return from injury, the right-back has spent no time getting stuck back into the action. Offensively he offers one of the biggest goal-threats in any Ligue 1 backline; this was highlighted with his goal and assist in just two Champions League appearances this season. The 31-year-old also has the ability to rack up points on Mondogoal through defensive graft; on average this season Jallet has made 3.5 successful tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game. Lyon were impressive last week vs. Toulouse as they ran out 3-nil winners and we expect them to dominate Troyes in equal measure. Sunday: Our second defensive tip is perhaps the most selected player since the beginning of our Ligue 1 column, Ricardo Pereira (5.8m). Every week he seems to be our ‘go to' guy and with Nice hosting a goal-shy Lille side, there was no hesitation to select Pereira yet again. The striker-cum-defender has been a revelation for Nice this season, filling in for Amavi as if he had never left. Pereira has a high floor on Mondogoal with an average of 8.55 points this season, this is down to his appetite to win the ball back (4.3 tackles per game), intercept (2.8 times per game) and most of all to create chances for his teammates (1.5 key passes per game). Pereira has assisted 3 times in 6 appearances this season, a 50% assist return is superb for a midfielder or striker, let alone a defender. Available at just about half the price of his competition in this slate, he is absolute bang for your buck.

Attacking Potential

  1. Lyon
  2. Saint-Etienne
  3. Monaco
  4. Marseille
  5. Nice

Midfielder Tips

Saturday: Lyon's Claudio Beauvue (12.5m) certainly stood out for us this week following his pair of assists last weekend. The ex-Guingamp player has been fielded in recent weeks alongside Lacazette on the frontline, so you are really picking up a forward who is classified as a ‘Midfielder' on Mondogoal. This is a huge benefit, as he can bank cleansheet points and also 0.2 points more than a forward for every pass completed. This might not sound like a big advantage right now, nevertheless, if he gets on the scoresheet, Beauvue could easily trump any forward in this Mondogoal slate. Lyon play bottom of the table Troyes, who have seen over 2.5 goals fly past them in their last 3 encounters versus today's visitors. Sunday: There is an abundance of popular midfield options for Sunday with the likes of Boufal, Allesandrini and Ben Arfa's names flying around, nevertheless, we are placing our faith in Monaco's playmaker Bernardo Silva (10.3m). The slight midfielder's playing style suits Mondogoal's scoring system perfectly; he has a knack of winning fouls frequently throughout matches and due to the fact that his teammates look to give him the ball at every opportunity, he bags pass, touch and shots on target points left, right and centre. Overall Silva has disappointed this season, but don't let this put you off as he has recently uncovered a purple patch of form with a goal and the Man of the Match display in his last fixture. Monaco have found the net at least twice in their last 4 fixtures vs. Angers, so we are hoping for more of the same, with the Portuguese International at the heart of things.

Forward Tips

Saturday: Lyon seem to have turned the corner and rediscovered their scoring touch so who better to include in your squad than last season's top scorer Alexandre Lacazette (10m). His opposition Troyes played and were beaten just 3 days ago in the Coupe de la Ligue and Lyon have had a full weeks rest, so we're expecting big things from the Frenchman today. Despite not getting on the scoresheet Lacazette's all round play vs. Toulouse was excellent. After failing to live up to the hype surrounding his name, so far this season, this improvement in performance will give him the lift he was searching so desperately for. Reasonably priced at 10m and with, in our eyes, the highest probability of scoring of any player this weekend, Lacazette was the first name we noted down. Sunday: To round up our Gameweek 12 tips, we are backing Marseille talisman Michy Batshuayi (9.3m). He tops the scoring charts for Ligue 1 with 8 goals this season and since Michel took over management from ‘El Loco' Bielsa in August the Cameroonian has displayed terrific consistency with 10 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions. Marseille recorded their first win on the road last weekend and will now be hungry to return from Nantes with a similar outcome. Nantes don't concede often, however, they did ship 3 goals vs. a Ligue 2 side (Bourg en Bresse Peronnas) in midweek; so if their defences and morale were ever weak, now is that time. We are predicting Batshuayi to take advantage of this and capitalize on ‘The Canaries' misfortunes.
