Fantasy Championship Tips For Daily Fantasy Football Betting: Gameweek 44

Welcome back to another Fantasy Championship five tips for Gameweek 42 article. Joe Dean returns with his top five tips ahead of Gameweek 44 in the English Championship. With little over 2 weeks left in what has been a typically exciting and competitive season in the Championship, there is only one issue that needs to be resolved. Who will earn a place in next seasons Premier League and who will have to go through the torture of the playoffs. 3 teams remain in realistic contention. Brighton look like the form team in 3rd as they notched up 2 wins in the last week, scoring 9 and conceding none. A 5-0 hammering of Fulham helped by a Tomer Hemed hat-trick was followed by an equally convincing 4-0 win against QPR where Anthony Knockaert bagged a brace. Last Saturday, Middlesbrough needed a late goal to keep them in pole position as an injury time Jordan Rhodes strike ensured they earned maximum points against relegated Bolton. Burnley battled to a vital win at Birmingham later that day setting up a potential decider at Turf Moor as the top 2 met on Tuesday night. Rhodes looked like he had scored another winner when he gave Boro the lead only for Michael Keane to equalise in injury time leaving promotion still in Burnley's hands. Middlesbrough go into this weekend's action 2 points clear at the top on 86 points with Burnley second on goal difference ahead of Brighton. Burnley can go top if they win at local rivals Preston on Friday night, while Boro will look to respond at home to Ipswich while Brighton will want to keep up the pressure with a win at Charlton. Other than the top 3, few sides are left with more than pride to play for. Charlton followed Bolton through the relegation trapdoor on Tuesday with MK Dons all but gone as well. Cardiff and Ipswich can still mathematically steal a playoff spot but it would require an extraordinary collapse from 6th placed Sheffield Wednesday. All eyes will be on the battle for the top 2. Tip 1 � Brighton to crank up the pressure

With both Middlesbrough and Burnley facing difficult fixtures, Brighton should have the quality to take full advantage of any slip ups with a comfortable win at Charlton. Chris Hughton's men are flying at the moment and they have now notched up 4 straight wins. They play a relegated Charlton side who will surely struggle to cope with a Brighton side who dismantled 2 sides who were much stronger than the Addicks. With things so tight at the top, goal difference could be the deciding factor so the Seagulls will be looking to rack up the goals against a defence that have been leaking goals all season. Tomer Hemed and Anthony Knockaert were devastating in the two crushing wins last week. Lewis Dunk has had another superb season in defence and will be extremely disappointed if his side fail to keep a clean sheet against a side who have consistency lacked creativity. Brighton should be very comfortable winners here.

Tip 2 � Cardiff to keep their faint play off hopes alive

A few weeks ago Cardiff seemed to be seriously threatening to gatecrash the top 6. However they've fallen away and struggled to cope with the pressure in recent games. With 3 games to go and 6 points to make up on Sheffield Wednesday there is still hope but they have to win all their remaining fixtures and hope Wednesday suffer a collapse. The Bluebirds welcome relegated Bolton, a side who have never looked like surviving this season. With only their fate on the pitch certain at Bolton, the players have been unsurprisingly poor since their relegation was confirmed and I'm expecting another limp performance on Saturday. David Marshall will be expecting rather than hoping for a clean sheet while Craig Noone and Anthony Pilkington will be confident of adding to their goal tallys.

Tip 3 � Hull to keep their momentum going

After missing out on automatic promotion and being comfortably in the playoffs, it wouldn't have been a shock to see Hull's season peter out. However, Steve Bruce knows how important momentum can be in the playoffs. They battled to 2 wins in the last week and will hope that they can find a more emphatic performance against Leeds on Saturday. Leeds picked up an impressive win against Wolves in midweek extending their winning run to 3 and moving them into the top half. Despite all the discontent with his appointment, Steve Evans has done a solid job with a side who have been so troubled off the field, but Hull should have far too much for them. Robert Snodgrass found a late winner last Friday and would love to have a similar impact against his former club. Abel Hernandez has struggled for goals recently, but he is too good to continue to fire blanks.

Tip 4 � Hasselbaink to get a response from his QPR side

For a side with enough quality to be competing at the top of the division, QPR have massively underachieved this season. They were embarrassed by Brighton last time out and manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be demanding a response from his players when Reading visit Loftus Road. The Royals have lost 3 on the spin and have really struggled to motivate themselves since their exit from the FA Cup. If they can show the sort of performance level and desire that got them to the quarter finals, there is no reason why they can't be playoff contenders next season, but they will need the summer to regroup. QPR's quality should see them through. Matt Phillips has struggled for consistency this term but has the quality to cause problems for any side. Conor Washington has found the jump from League One to the Championship a difficult one but he has the ability to be a real force in the second tier.

Tip 5 � Fulham's front two will terrorise Forest

Despite what has been another lacklustre season for Fulham, the fans have been fortunate to see what has been one of the deadliest strikeforce in the Championship. Ross McCormack will always guarantee you at least 20 goals a season at this level but he has found a new partner in crime in the form of teenager Moussa Dembele. The Frenchman is attracting interest from a host of top flight teams and will be wanting to put himself in the shop window by adding to his 15 league goals against Nottingham Forest. Forest have failed to fully recover after their long unbeaten run was broken in February. They will struggle contain Fulham's forwards but Britt Assombalonga is due to make his long awaited return from injury. Forest fans will be forgiven for thinking about what might've been if he had played regularly for them this season.
