Fantasy Championship Tips For Daily Fantasy Football Betting: Gameweek 41

Share post on:
Welcome back to another Fantasy Championship five tips for Gameweek 41 article. Joe Dean returns with his top five tips ahead of Gameweek 41 in the English Championship. With just 6 rounds of matches left of the Championship season, the promotion race and relegation battle are becoming much clearer. Bolton are all but gone and their relegation will be confirmed if they fail to win at Derby. Charlton and the MK Dons are in deep trouble as well and need to string some wins together if they are to have any chance of survival. It was a disastrous midweek for the bottom 3 as the 4 sides immediately above the dropzone all picked up points meaning there is now a 6 point gap between MK Dons in 22nd and in-form Rotherham in 21st. In the playoff race, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday were the big winners as they both won, while the chasing pack all dropped points. Now with a 4 point buffer, the last 2 playoff spots are Derby and Sheffield Wednesday's to lose. While everything else in the division appears to have become clearer, the automatic promotion race has tightened up. Brighton and Middlesbrough both won while leaders Burnley only mustered a draw. 2 points now separate 1st from 3rd. Hull were mauled by Derby and it seems they will now have to settle for a playoff berth.

Tip 1 Derby to seal Bolton's fate.

For plenty of weeks now it's been pretty clear that Bolton are going to have to consign themselves to relegation. Saturday could be the day where it is finally confirmed. They go to Derby 17 points adrift of safety with only 18 available to play for. To avoid the inevitable, the Trotters will have to do what they have failed to do all season. Win a game away from home. And the iPro is not the easiest place to leave with 3 points from. Derby will be buoyant following their 4-0 dismantling of promotion rivals Hull and will be keen to cement their playoff place. With the quality the Rams have at their disposal, and the distinct lack of quality shown by Bolton all season, there can only be one outcome. Bradley Johnson ended his goal drought with a brace in midweek and will be looking to replicate his promotion with Norwich last season. Chris Martin has netted 5 in his last 7 and in defence, Marcus Olsson has impressed since his January switch from Blackburn.

Tip 2 MK Dons to cut the gap.

When you're 6 points from safety with just 6 games to go, a home game against a relegation rival is a must-win. If the MK Dons are to avoid an immediate return to League One then they have to find a way to beat Rotherham on Saturday. Their task won't be simple as Rotherham are one of the league's in form sides and Neil Warnock teams are notoriously difficult to beat. The Dons' defeat to Wolves on Tuesday will have been a tough pill to swallow having led but they must bounce back with a victory, and in front of their home fans I think the players will step up. Goals have been a problem all season for Karl Robinson's side so a clean sheet may be a necessity. Anthony Kay and Dean Lewington are vital components of the Dons backline while they will be reliant on top scorer Josh Murphy to be the match winner.

Tip 3 Another nail in the coffin for Charlton.

Charlton showed signs of fight in midweek by earning a creditable point away at Ipswich. At the moment however the Addicks need wins to keep themselves from slipping out of the league. They face a frustratingly inconsistent QPR side who have showed signs of improvement since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took over but not enough. Despite QPR being below par this season, they should still have too much for Charlton as they possess more quality all over the pitch. Jose Riga has been unable to revive this Charlton side and I can see them losing again on Saturday. Tjaronn Chery has been the standout performer at Loftus Road this season and will be confident about impressing again next time out. Alex Smithies and Nedum Onuoha will be feeling optimistic about their clean sheet prospects against a goal shy Charlton side.

Tip 4 Burnley to struggle past Leeds.

Burnley's midweek stalemate against Cardiff gave the chasing pack a real boost as the race to finish in the top 2 heats up. At this stage of the season, home games will be seen as must-win for the promotion candidates. Leeds travel to Turf Moor for Saturday's early kick off and they will arrive with little more than pride to play for. Steve Evans has made Leeds more difficult to beat but Burnley should be too strong for them as they hunt an immediate return to the Premier League. Turf Moor has been a fortress for the Clarets and I don't think it will be any different this weekend. Sam Vokes and Andre Gray are in blistering form at the moment while Tom Heaton will be aiming to impress in goal as he looks to earn a seat on the plane to France.

Tip 5 Boro to pile on the pressure.

Middlesbrough find themselves in a similar position to last season as they chase a long awaited return to the top flight. Should they win their game in hand they would go top however the ghosts of last season may be playing on the mind of Aitor Karanka and his players. They made it 3 straight wins with a routine victory at home to Huddersfield and will want a repeat against Preston. This will be no walkover for Boro however as Preston will sit deep and defend compactly. A tight game is on the cards as 2 of the best organised defences go head to head but I'm expecting Boro's extra quality to shine through. Tomas Kalas has impressed in recent weeks and George Friend is one of the best defenders in the division. Gaston Ramirez is terrorising the Championship at the moment and the Southampton loanee will want to wreak more havoc at the Riverside.
