Callum Read returns with more daily fantasy football tips for tonight's Euro 2016 late start tournaments on Mondogoal.
Please note, some players may not feature due to squad rotation.
Goalkeeper Tips
Slovenia are on paper guaranteed to keep a clean sheet, San Marino have only scored the one goal in qualification and with Slovenia needing just a point to guarantee their play off place it's hard to see them conceding. We believe one of the most important parts of Daily Fantasy Football is checking the starting line-ups. With Slovenia likely to get a clean sheet it could be an option to opt for their starting keeper. This will likely be either
Samir Handanovic (7.4m) or
Jan Oblak (8.9m) both would be worth their weight in gold and would almost guarantee that clean sheet for you.
The Swiss also have a good chance to keep a clean sheet tonight when they come up against Estonia. A side that have only scored four goals in the qualification campaign. Switzerland is another side we would recommend checking the starting 11 before locking in your MondoGoal side. Their number 1 is usually
Yann Sommer (6.7m) but in the 7-0 win over San Marino manager Vladimir Petkovic opted for Borussia Dotmund's
Roman Burki (7.8m) once again please make sure you check your keeper is starting to give yourself the best chance of winning some cash.
Defender Tips
England are just one win away from a 100% record in the qualification campaign. With England's captain Wayne Rooney out injured and Friday's skipper Gary Cahill returning to Chelsea Everton's
Phil Jagielka (8.7m) will lead to side out in Lithuania. It's a massive personal achievement for Jags and one he will excel in. He's very good in a tackle and can read the game incredibly well, of course all this combined with England's ability to keep clean sheets makes him a good pick for MondoGoal.
We once again return to the Slovenia side this time with some defenders for you. Now like we said before it is imperative you check the starting 11 as there is a chance the squad could be rotated to give those wanting game time a chance against a lesser nation. None the less both
Bojan Jokic (6.0m) and
Andraz Struna (7.7m) are both in with a chance of keeping their place. Villarreal left back Jokic will be keen to make an impression and will be causing problems down the left whilst Sturna usually operates on the right hand side of defence. Both have a great chance of picking up a clean sheet and some assists.
Since their 2-1 defeat against Slovakia this time last year Spain haven't conceded a goal in a competitive game. That' seven clean sheets in a row, a commendable achievement even for a major nation such as Spain. Left back
Jordi Alba (9.5m) looks a great pick for tonight. As we know with Alba he is a real danger going forward loves to get into the final third of the pitch. He also doesn't neglect his defensive duties and in the same mould as Jagielka this will boost his points on MondoGoal.
Finally, it's the Swiss duo
Ricardo Rodriguez (8.4m) and
Fabian Schar (7.7m) who will be hoping to finish their campaign in style. They have a great chance to keep a clean sheet and both provide danger in attack. Schar provides a threat from set pieces giving him the chance to really boost his MondoGoal score. Whilst left back Rodriguez is a dead ball specialist taking freekicks, corners and penalties. He has a dangerous left foot on him, which provides trouble from either free kicks or corners. He does have some competition to take them from both Inler and Shaqiri.
Midfielder Tips
You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to midfield option, particularly from the Spanish side.
Juan Mata (13.6m) and
Santi Cazorla (12.5m) both offer great MondoGoal value. Firstly Juan Mata, he is looking likely to start tonight after the injury to David Silva in Spain's 4-0 win over Luxembourg. The Manchester United man replaced the City star but didn't really make a massive impact. We all know that Mata is fantastic with the ball at his feet and possess real creativity. The same applies for Santi Cazorla who picked up two goals in that 4-0 win. Cazorla is another player who is hitting a run of form and comes in at a slightly cheaper price, which would enable some wriggle room for your side.
We once again return to Slovenia this time with
Valter Birsa (5.5m) and
Josip Ilicic (12.6m) both players feature as attacking midfielders in the 4231 formation with Birsa commonly out on the wing and Ilicic behind the striker. Birsa is the designated penalty taker for Slovenia, scoring one in the 1-1 draw with Lithuania. If he once again features in the starting 11 his price tag offers fantastic value for a winger who will play against San Marino. Throughout the qualification campaign he has picked up four assists and scored the single goal.
Ilicic will most likely play just behind the striker tonight. The Fiorentina man has an eye for a goal picking up three already in the Serie A season whilst he also has a creative side to his game picking up two assist this campaign. The pair have a fantastic chance to impress their manager before the qualifiers an what better place to do that than against San Marino.
Now we move onto our beloved England, once again there is a duo of players who stick out and they are
Theo Walcott (13.2m) and
Ross Barkley (10.1m) The Arsenal man really is proving just how much he is worth to both his club and international side. He has scored three goals from just four shots in England's Euro 2016 qualifying campaign whilst in his last 10 games for both club and country he has scored seven. His pace is becoming a massive asset to England enabling him to get behind defences and create chances. Meanwhile Ross Barkley is finally showing the promise we all believed he had. He looked very bright and energetic in the win over Estonia and his creativity and clever footwork is improving game on game. BUT – There is some doubt over both Walcott and Barkley tonight as Roy Hodgson stated he will play an interesting side against Lithuania. So please make sure you check the team news!
Finally it's
Marek Hamsik (11.2m) the Napoli and Slovakia captain is arguably one of the most underrated players in the world. He adds dynamism and an attacking threat whilst also fulfilling his defensive duties to a high standard. He could prove to be a real gem on MondoGoal tonight when he comes up against a Luxembourg side who have conceded 23 goals in nine games. Automatic qualification lies within the hands of Slovakia so if they want to guarantee themselves of a place in France a big win tonight would do the job.
Forward Tips
Kicking off proceedings is Spain's
Paco Alcacer (6.6m) who now has the chance to prove his worth to Vicente Del Bosque. Unfortunately Alvaro Morata picked up an injury last Friday night and was replaced by the Valencia striker. Alcacer then went on to score a brace putting him in Bosque's plans for Ukraine away. The striker is a fantastic finisher and his composure in front of goal makes him a real asset to Spain.
Josip Drmic (4.1m) somehow the Gladbach striker didn't pick up a goal against San Marino but if he continues to start upfront he has a great chance of adding to his tally against Estonia. His teammate
Breel Embolo (6.1m) did manage to grab one goal in the thrashing on Friday. His first international goal came from the penalty spot, the 18-year-old is really starting to make a name for himself on the European football scene with Aston Villa scouting the Basel youngster. Embolo could feature either on the wing or as the striker tonight.
Arise, Sir
Harry Kane (8.8m). Okay maybe it's a little too early for that, but nevertheless the Tottenham man is starting to capture the hearts of English fans. He failed to score in the 2-0 win over Estonia but without doubt he will be eager to add to his international tally against Lithuania tonight. As we've previously mentioned though, please keep an eye out for the English team news as Kane could well be dropped out of the starting 11. If he does start though he could be well worth the 8.8m.
