Daily Fantasy Football Tips For Premier League Gameweek 5.
jamieFPL returns with his Daily Fantasy Football tips for Premier League Gameweek 5, this week covering players who are due a goal and the point scoring potential of the early kick off.
Welcome back Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Roberto Firmino and Kevin De Bruyne - oh how we've missed you all. Last week these familiar names returned to the score sheet after starting the season slowly, and created by far the most unpredictable, up and down weekends of daily fantasy football yet. After the Saturday fixtures I was pleased with how my players had performed, I had high ownership of Antonio throughout my teams and a few of my differential picks such as Alli and Benteke had also found the net. Sunday arrived with frustration as Hazard (my captain) blanked in Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Swansea. Monday then put the cherry on the cake when those who captained Romelu Lukaku flooded the payout spots of all three leaderboards following his hat-trick against Sunderland. With so many players emerging from the shadows and taking the limelight in Gameweek 4, I've decided to begin this article by picking out a few players who I think could do the same again this weekend.Players who are due a goal in Gameweek 5:
Here's a few players that have been directly involved in their team's attack this season but are yet to find the net. This will no doubt cast them as differentials over their teammates, making them good outsider picks for this game week's Bet4theBest contests. I've selected two players from each position: Sturridge vs. Chelsea (A) Liverpool have got off to a familiar start under Klopp and opted for the ‘we're going to score more than you' philosophy. So far this season they've averaged at 2.25 goals scored and 1.75 conceded per game. Daniel Sturridge only managed an assist during Liverpool's 4-1 romp over Champions Leicester last weekend, but was singled out for praise by his boss for his selfless approach to the team's cause. So far this season he's averaged an attempt on goal every 15.7 minutes. Llorente vs. Southampton (A) Swansea will have no doubt received a boost in confidence following their comeback last weekend which earned them a 2-2 draw against Chelsea. The Swans capitalised on some poor defensive play from the blues and found the net twice in quick succession, despite not creating a single chance all game. Fernando Llorente has featured in every minute of Swansea's campaign so far this season but is yet to find the net. The striker has had more touches in the side the box than any other player in the league (45) and has averaged at 2.5 goal attempts per game. Townsend vs. Stoke (H) The arrival of Christian Benteke set Crystal Palace off on winning ways last weekend when they earned a vital three points on the road against Middlesbrough. This week the Eagles host a sorry Stoke side who have conceded an average of 2.5 goals per game, including four last week to Tottenham. Andros Townsend was a popular choice at the beginning of the season but fantasy managers have began to lose faith in the midfielder - much like many of the players mentioned in the intro. However, out of all the players yet to score this season, Townsend has had the highest number of big chances (15) and depending on how you interpret this, he's either due a goal or has a terrible conversion rate. Eriksen vs. Sunderland (H) Tottenham are off to an unbeaten start this season and last weekend celebrated a 4-0 victory over Stoke. In the final fixture of Gameweek 5 they host Sunderland who were served the second biggest defeat last weekend, after losing 3-0 to Everton. Christian Eriksen returned a 11 point haul last time out thanks to his two assists and this weekend will be looking to get himself on this scoresheet. So far this season he's had 2.5 big chances per game. Alderweireld vs. Sunderland (H) Tottenham have the joint strongest defence this season having kept two clean sheets and only conceded two goals in total. Walker and Rose have already contributed to the attack, but Alderweireld is still yet to deliver any attacking returns. Last season, Toby Alderweireld averaged a goal or assist every 489 minutes. Having already played 360 minutes this season, it could suggest he's due something soon. He's also had the joint highest amount of goal attempts (7) from all the defenders yet to find the net this season. Ward vs. Stoke (H) Crystal Palace are yet to keep a clean sheet this season so their defenders are often not called upon to bring back clean sheet points. However, their back four are known for their attacking potential and there's other options to FPL favourite Scott Dann. Joel Ward's statistics from this season show that he's looking to build on his two goals that he scored last season. So far this season he's had 7 goal attempts and last week was presented with his first big chance.A Friday night fixture that's full of point potential.
The Premier League weekend begins on Friday night when Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Bet4theBest allows you to enter a team before any fixture kicks off, meaning that a lot of players wait until 3pm matches on Saturday, in order to see the maximum number of starting lineups as possible. Avoiding the Friday night fixture this gameweek is not something that I intend to do. Liverpool and Chelsea have both averaged 2.25 goals per game so far this season and this fixture is gearing up to be a goal-fest. I'll now highlight a few players who you should keep an eye on for this fixture. Diego Costa is the most in-form player in the Premier League right now with four goals and an assist from his opening four matches. He's yet to show signs of slowing down with a brace last weekend. Despite failing to return more than two points last time out, Eden Hazard still looked the most lively player on the pitch and will be the focal point of Chelsea's attack again in this fixture. So far this season he's scored twice and picked up an assist. Sadio Mane made it two goals in three matches after finding the net during Liverpool's four-goal thriller against Champions Leicester. Roberto Firmino also returned to goal scoring ways during this fixture, firing home his first brace of the campaign. Mane (2 shots) and Firmino (3 shots) were both in fine shooting form last week with 100% of their shots hitting the target. This is a breath of fresh air for Bet4theBest managers as it means less chance of receiving -2 points for 3 shots off target. Good luck in this week's contests and look out for me (jamieFPL) on the leaderboards.[alert type=yellow ]Introducing Bet4theBest
