Fantasy Champions League Tips For Daily Fantasy Football Betting: April 5/6

Share post on:
The Champions League Quarter Finals take place this week with the likes of Barcelona, PSG and Bayern all looking to book a spot in the semi-finals. @jamieFPL is here to provide you with fantasy Champions League tips for daily fantasy football betting on Mondogoal and FantasyBet contests. The small slate means less variance amongst daily fantasy teams, which subsequently increases the importance of calling the clean sheets, goal scorers and differentials. This article will be split into two sections focusing on clean sheet and goalscoring potential for the fixtures that take place on April 5th & 6th.

Fixtures

Tue, April 5th: Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid Bayern vs. Benfica Wed, April 6th: PSG vs. Man City Wolfsburg vs. Real Madrid

Clean Sheet Rankings:

Day Team Odds Form Fixt Total
Tue BAY 1 2  4 7
Wed rmd 4 3 1 8
Wed PSG  3 5 2 10
Tue BAR  2  7 4 13
Wed mci  6  1  6 13
Tue ben  8  3  3  14
Tue atl  5  5  7  17
Wed WFB 7  8  8  23
All teams have been ranked from 1 to 8 based on the bookies odds and their form from their last five matches in all competitions. Odds = Bookies Odds Form = Goals Conceded/Clean Sheets Fixt = Opposition Goals Scored Bayern Munich narrowly top the table ahead of their home clash against Benfica, who currently lead the Primeira Liga. Bayern are unbeaten in their last five competitive fixtures whereas Benfica enter this encounter on the back of an eight match winning run. Pep Guardiola will be without Jerome Boateng and Holger Badstuber due to injury, Mehdi Benatia is also a doubt ahead of the fixture. We're predicting a similar defensive lineup to the one that kept a clean sheet against Frankfurt at the weekend, with Bernat, Alaba, Martinez and Lahm making up the back four. The latter pair are classified as midfielders in both Mondogoal and FantasyBet, so are unable to bank full clean sheet points. Despite the bookies giving them a 38.17% chance of keeping a clean sheet, we expect Real Madrid to shut out Wolfsburg away from home. Any of their starting backline will hold potential, so be sure to check their lineup before kick-off. Real Madrid have kept seven clean sheets from their eight European matches this season and Keylor Navas is still yet to concede in the Champions League during his eight appearances (720 minutes). This puts Navas 133 minutes away from breaking Jens Lehmann's record for the number of minutes played without conceding in the competition. Barcelona boss Luis Enrique admitted that his side had “almost forgotten what losing was” following their 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the El Classico. The defeat marked the end of a 39-match unbeaten run for Barcelona who currently stand 6-points clear at the top of the La Liga. Gerard Pique returns to the frame after serving his suspension against Arsenal in the second leg of Round of 16. Adriano and Jeremy Mathieu however, still remain doubtful and will unlikely be risked not a full fitness. Barcelona have won the past six meetings, with Atletico's last victory in the Champions League quarter-finals in April 2014. It's clear why the bookies really fancy their chances of a clean sheet, however our rankings table doesn't agree quite as much. Having already won Ligue 1, PSG have just the Champions League to concentrate on. Since their return to the competition in 2012, they have only lost one of their 19 home matches. They haven't exactly been known for clean sheets though, keeping just six during that time. Three of those have, however, come in their last four matches at the Parc des Princes. April 5th Tips: Juan Bernat (Mondogoal: £8.9m, FantasyBet: £6.0m) David Alaba (Mondogoal: £11.0m, FantasyBet: £7.0m) Gerard Pique (Mondogoal: £9.3m, FantasyBet: £7.0m) April 6th Tips: Keylor Navas (Mondogoal: £10.5m, FantasyBet: £6.5m) Sergio Ramos (Mondogoal: £9.5m, FantasyBet: £7.0m) Pepe (Mondogoal: £9.1m, FantasyBet: £6.5m)

 Goalscoring Rankings:

Day Team Odds Form Fixt Total
Wed rmd 2 1  1 4
Tue BAR 3 2 2 7
Tue BAY 1 6 4 11
Tue atl 7  4 2 13
Wed PSG  4  3  8 15

All teams have been ranked from 1 to 8 based on the bookies odds and their form from their last five matches in all competitions. Odds = Bookies Odds Form = Goals Scored Fixt = Opposition Goals Conceded Real Madrid storm our goalscoring rankings with the best form and fixture, plus a 90.91% implied chance of scoring according to the bookies. Zidane's side have averaged 3.4 goals per game from their last five matches in all competitions, including a 4-0 victory against Sevilla and a 7-1 victory over Celta Vigo. Just under half (41.18%) of Real Madrid's goals from their last five have come from Cristiano Ronaldo. Expect his value and ownership to be very high across all daily fantasy contests and avoid him at your own risk. Toni Kroos has shown an eye for goal recently, with the opening goals in both of his countries friendlies during the International break, but again, takes a large chunk out of your budget. Casimero seems to have nailed down the holding role in Madrid's midfield and is the cheapest option, who is likely to start, in their squad - although he is limited offensively, the Brazilian is no stranger to a long-range effort. Barcelona will be looking to bounce back from their El Clasico defeat against league rivals Atletico Madrid. Daily fantasy managers once again encounter the lottery decision of whether to choose Messi, Neymar or Suarez. This will likely come down to your budget restrictions, however it could be worth noting that Neymar has taken up penalty duties and converted at the end of last month against Villarreal. The bookies odds imply that Bayern Munich have a whopping 97.09% chance of finding the back of the net against Benfica, but that's only enough to earn them third place on our rankings table. Robert Lewandowski is always a safe bet when looking for Bayern coverage, though his price-tag will no doubt create further complications. There are plenty of differentials to consider from Bayern, Thiago Alcantara and Thomas Muller have scored three in their last five, meanwhile Kingsley Coman has provided four assists. PSG have been firing them in recently but Man City's defensive form casts them lower in our rankings than we'd expect. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored seven in his last three matches, including a hat-trick against Nice last weekend and four in PSG's 9-0 demolition of Troyes. Simply known as 'Zlatan' on FantasyBet! Angel Di Maria offers a cheaper alternative, with an equally elite skill set. The winger is more likely to contribute with assists, with two in his last two Champions League matches, but has also chipped in with three goals in PSG's seven matches in the competition. Elsewhere, we'd expect Man City and Atletico Madrid to be pushing for a vital away. Kevin De Bruyne marked his return with a goal against Bournemouth, but Pellegrini has hinted he may not start in Paris. Antoine Griezmann is the safe bet for Atletico, though keep an eye out for Fernando Torres who made we rewarded with a start following his opener against Betis. Be wary if he starts that he may not feature for a full 90 minutes, but his value could be a great enabler. April 5th Tips: Neymar (Mondogoal: £18.3m, FantasyBet: £13.0m) Robert Lewandowski (Mondogoal: £15.2m, FantasyBet: £13.5m) Thiago Alcantara (Mondogoal: £9.6m, FantasyBet: £m) Thomas Muller (Mondogoal: £16.2m, FantasyBet: £13.0m) Kingsley Coman (Mondogoal: £9.2m, FantasyBet: £8.0m) Antoine Greizmann (Mondogoal: £11.8m, FantasyBet: £12.0m) Fernando Torres (Mondogoal: £4.0m, FantasyBet: £7.5m) April 6th Tips: Cristiano Ronaldo (Mondogoal: £21.4m, FantasyBet: £16.0m) Toni Kroos (Mondogoal: £12.0m, FantasyBet: £9.5m) Casimero (Mondogoal: £7.7m, FantasyBet: £7.0m) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Mondogoal: £21.5m, FantasyBet: £13.0m) Angel Di Maria (Mondogoal: £15.2m, FantasyBet: £10.5m)
