Braveheart’s GW37 reveal:

I’d like to start my team reveal section by apologising for missing the last two articles. My work-life balance hasn’t been great and so I had limited time to devote to content creating. I should however be able to prepare another article this week in advance of GW38 on Sunday.

Heading into the last two gameweeks of the season I have 1 FT and 0.4m in the bank. I have no more chips (having wildcarded in GW35 to maximise the double gameweek and set my team up for the season). A number of problems cropped up in my team in GW36 so my out-list looks like this:

  • Vincente Guaita – he was dropped for the match against Aston Villa and as I have Forster on my bench I have an unwelcome goalkeeping headache at the end of the season.
  • Diogo Jota – frustratingly I brought him in last week as there was no news about his injury, but as he’ll miss the rest of the season it may be pointless having £7.0m on my bench.
  • Ollie Watkins – his last two fixtures aren’t great and I wanted to bring in Antonio this week as his replacement, but the other two fires seem more important especially since Watkins has returned in all but two gameweeks since GW28.

If replacing Jota this week, as I suspect I might, my options are Greenwood (£7.2m) and Raphinha (£5.5m). Greenwood is the better pick in terms of goal threat but he is not as nailed as the Leeds man. But Greenwood would block any viable replacement of Watkins in GW38 as I’d be priced out of the likes of Wood or Antonio.

If replacing Guaita, which seems so boring given how close we are to the end of the season, I’d likely be bringing in Dubravka (£4.8m) given how attractive the Newcastle fixture are. I really hope there is some indication pre-deadline that Guaita will be back in the line-up as I really don’t want to waste a transfer on a goalie. The reason I’m considering this move is because I’m in an extremely tight mini-league this season with only four points separating top from second.

If I make my preferred transfer of Jota to Raphinha, my team going into GW37 is as follows:

  • Guaita v Arsenal (h),
  • Alexander-Arnold v Burnley (a),
  • Shaw v Fulham (h),
  • Coufal v West Brom (a),
  • Dallas v Southampton (a),
  • Salah (captain) v Burnley (a),
  • Fernandes v Fulham (h),
  • Lingard v West Brom (a),
  • Raphinha v Southampton (a),
  • Kane v Aston Villa (h),
  • Bamford v Southampton (a),
  • Bench: Forster, Watkins, Coleman, Burke.

The team is not set in stone until the deadline so please follow me at @FPLBraveheart on Twitter for any updates. All the best and I hope everyone reading gets green arrows in GW37. But, most importantly, stay safe out there (or, more accurately, at home)!
