By all standards this has been a slow start to the season for PSG. The French giants currently sit in third place in the league and are coming off a draw to Nice.
The fact that the Paris side came from behind to secure any points could be seen as a positive, so they may hit the road with some confidence before they face off against Guingamp. The hosts may not have the same resources that their opponent does, but they themselves are no slouches and have been resilient at points throughout the season.
That resiliency may not be enough to stave off the threat that is PSG, but it should be enough to cause plenty of frustration. Guingamp have only let in more than two goals in one match this season, so the side should be hopeful of at least limiting the League’s leading goalscorer Edinson Cavani and the rest of PSG’s attack.
PSG don’t have to be at their very best to pick up results against the majority of its Ligue 1 opponents and this weekend should prove to be no different. Cavani has been prolific in the French league this season, so if there’s any one man who will find the breakthrough, there’s a good chance it’ll be him.
Even though Guingamp most likely won’t leave the weekend with any points, they shouldn’t be pushovers either. The hosts have only lost once at home and it was a 1-0 match to Nice.
We expect PSG to win, but they’ll have to grind it out in what should be a close affair.
