GW12 Stats – The Top Ten

Premier League GW12 – Starts Friday 11th December 2020

Another Premier League week is in the history books and with the first set of December fixtures out of the way, it is time to catch your breath. Because from this point onwards, the football comes thick and fast.

A festive treat of top flight action, will undoubtedly leave you stuffed and with the prospect of some supporters being allowed to cheer on their beloveds on Boxing Day, it does mean some form of normality is just around the corner.

While when it comes to normality, this is something that can be measured with your FPL selections. As we ask, are you a manager who follows the pack or someone who looks for that all-important differential on a weekly basis?

If you are the former, then the table of stats below will be of interest, while if you are the latter, these names might not be as important. Then again, whichever camp you sit in, it is now time to reveal the latest top 10 in terms of overall player points:

Once again it is the Tottenham connection that rules the roost and with Heung-min Son and Harry Kane laying on goals for each other, they both helped themselves to another impressive bundle of points.

Impressive to the point where Son is the first player to break the 100 marker this season and he also extends his personal lead at the top of the table to two points, by virtue of earning another midfield clean sheet point.

The Tottenham duo are clear of Mohamed Salah, who helped himself to a decent point haul on Sunday, as the Egyptian international scored the opener and made the third in Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Wolves.

Bruno Fernandes may have only been a substitute for Manchester United at the weekend, but he still had an impact when entering the field of play. The Portuguese star laid on an assist and is currently fourth in the table.

The former Sporting Lisbon star is two points clear of Dominic-Calvert Lewin who scored Everton’s equaliser at Burnley, while he is four points clear of Jamie Vardy, who scored Leicester’s winner at Sheffield United.

Moving back up to seventh place is Wilfried Zaha, as the Ivorian scored two goals in Crystal Palace’s 5-1 win over West Brom and he is two points clear of an inactive Jack Grealish, who did not play due to a match postponement.

That same issue stopped Callum Wilson adding to his points tally in tenth, but there was no stopping Patrick Bamford at the weekend. The Leeds hitman scored away at Chelsea and finds himself just one point behind Grealish in ninth.

Did You Know?

Sheff Utd have lost their last 7 away matches (Premier League). That does not bode well for this weekend, as the Blades travel to Southampton.

Liverpool have drawn their last 3 away matches (Premier League). Can Fulham make that record extend to a fourth? Never say never in this division, but that could be a rather large ask.

Tottenham have kept a clean sheet in their last 4 matches (Premier League). It seems as if the collapse against West Ham has ended up being a good thing in the long run, because a lesson has certainly been learned since.

Crystal Palace have got their opponents red carded the most times in the Premier League this season, with 3. Tottenham will have to be careful that they don’t fall into the trap this Sunday.

When it comes to personal aggression, Yves Bissouma is the current bad boy of the Premier League, as the Seagulls star has been booked on four occasions and sent off once.

Callum Wilson has the highest goalscoring percentage contribution of any player in the top 10 at present. The forward has scored seven league goals, and this equates to 58% of Newcastle’s total of 12.

Arsenal have the second longest streak without a league win at present. The Gunners have failed to earn a victory in their last four outings.
