Gameweek 1 – Stats Blast

At the start of any Premier League season, it is fair to say that there is not a great deal of current stats to digest. In fact, there are none and therefore we have to look to the past, in order to get an idea of the future.

With that in mind, the basis of this article is to look at clean sheets and just who has the best chance of keeping one this weekend, something that will not only aid you in your quest to beat the bookies but also your friends in the world of FPL.

I’ve analysed the past five full seasons of the Premier League and calculated just how often a team keeps a clean sheet. Now of course, not every team will have played the same amount of games due to promotion and relegation, therefore I’m going to work on a percentage basis.

In the 10 matches below, there will be a breakdown of the overall amount of games played and their clean sheet record/percentage and also their record of home/away depending on whether each team is playing in front of their own fans or not.
