Everton vs West Brom
The second week of the new Premier League season gets underway at Goodison Park, as Everton play host to West Brom and after making light work of Tottenham last Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will be looking to build on their perfect start.
To do so, they will have to get the better of an ordinary looking Baggies side and with they way they capitulated against Leicester last weekend, that will be of concern to manager Slaven Bilic.
Prediction: Everton 2-0 West Brom
Leeds vs Fulham
While although Leeds may have come away from Anfield empty handed, they certainly announced their return to the Premier League and if Marcelo Bielsa can harness the attacking endeavour that was on show and nullify the same defensive issues, the Elland Road side could be dangerous.
A recalibration that Fulham will hope is not in place by the time they make the trip to Yorkshire on Saturday and after a weak showing against Arsenal, a sense of promotion reality has been dealt.
Prediction: Leeds 3-0 Fulham
Manchester United vs Crystal Palace
No action for Manchester United last weekend, which means their season starts this Saturday and with an extra week’s rest, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are now ready and waiting to be unleashed on Crystal Palace.
While they go up against a Palace side, who picked up an opening day win at home to Southampton and it was a performance that was far improved from their offerings at the end of last season.
Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Crystal Palace
Arsenal vs West Ham
The Arteta era is certainly picking up pace at the Emirates and after such an impressive performance against Fulham last weekend, the Gunners have picked up from their silverware winning efforts from last month.
It is more London opposition this weekend, as they play host to West Ham and with the Hammers being well beaten by Newcastle last Saturday, it could be a long and arduous season on the horizon.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 West Ham
Southampton vs Tottenham
Southampton came away from Selhurst Park empty handed and although they certainly had chances to at least earn a point, it was a frustrating afternoon in front of goal for the likes of Danny Ings and his fellow teammates.
They play host to a Tottenham side who had an opening weekend to forget and if they play like that for the next eight months, a top four finish will be nothing more than a mere pipedream.
Prediction: Southampton 2-2 Tottenham
Newcastle vs Brighton
It was very much a night for Newcastle’s new boys on Saturday, as Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick found the net and earned maximum points against West Ham. Now they are off the mark, manager Steve Bruce will certainly be hoping of the same this Sunday.
They play host to a Brighton side, who at least kept Chelsea honest on Monday night and although they bloodied the nose of the Blues, the quality of Frank Lampard’s men shone through in the end.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Brighton
Chelsea vs Liverpool
It is the first titanic clash of this Premier League season and although it is only Week 2, this will be a real acid test for Chelsea and their title winning credentials, as they play host to defending champions Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp will be fully aware that his team cannot play as they did last Saturday (at least from a defensive standpoint) and one would expect a more polished offering from the Reds on Sunday.
Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool
Leicester vs Burnley
It may have taken Leicester a while to get going, but come the second half at the Hawthorns, they made incredibly light work of West Brom and with Jamie Vardy bagging an opening day brace, he has shown his Golden Boot winning credentials.
Credentials that will be useful this Sunday, as they play host to a Burnley side who get their Premier League season underway and will be hoping to get off the mark at the King Power Stadium.
Prediction: Leicester 1-0 Burnley
Aston Villa vs Sheffield United
After Aston Villa secured their Premier League status on the final day of last season, the challenge starts again for Dean Smith’s men and after being inactive last weekend, they get their campaign underway this Monday.
They play host to Sheffield United, who themselves lost to Wolves on Monday and one hopes that the goal line technology is a little more up to scratch at the start of next week, than compared to when they met back in June.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Sheffield United
Wolves vs Manchester City
Wolves’ start to the Premier League season was a perfect one, as they made light work of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane and after getting off the mark, they now welcome the championship favourites to Molineux on Monday night.
A tag that has been bestowed to Manchester City this season and after lying in wait for a further week, Pep Guardiola is once again ready to unleash his players on the rest of the division, as they hunt for their first three points.
Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Manchester City
