Betting Tips for Premier League – Gameweek 24

MANCHESTER CITY EXACT REVENGE

The last time Manchester City lost in the Premier League was back in November 2020 and after losing by two goals to nil to Tottenham in North London, its almost as if that defeat has subsequently sparked the Etihad outfit into life.

After Pep Guardiola and his players were bested by Jose Mourinho, City found themselves in the bottom half of the table, albeit with a game in hand and at that point, you would have had every right to write them out of the title race.

However, for all this season’s early twist and tales, it does seem as if City have got their blip out of the way and now there is a sense that the cream has once again risen to the top of the Premier League table.

Cream that has seen City win each of their last 10 Premier League outings, while going unbeaten in their last 14 and not only will they look to extend both runs further at the weekend, but they will also look to exact revenge on Tottenham.

Tottenham were certainly improved on Sunday, as they got the better of West Brom and although it is a welcome three points, you would have to say that their improvement has come from an incredibly low base.

Which means, there should not be too much mood for optimism within the Spurs camp and although Harry Kane is fit once again, it is incredibly difficult to look past a City win on Saturday at odds of 1.30
Summary: Back Manchester City to win at home

HAMMERS BLUNT THE BLADES

While although West Ham played out a bore draw away at Fulham last weekend, it was the last few seconds of the encounter which drew the biggest attention and that was courtesy of Tomas Soucek’s sending off.

Soucek’s elbow made contact with Alexsandar Mitrovic’s face and although it was clear on the screen for all to see, it was also clear the Czech midfielder’s bodily motion was nothing more than accidental.

Despite his protests, the West Ham player was given his marching orders and although he was aghast at such a decision, there is at least some good news to come of it. News, that comes in the form of his availability next Monday.

That’s because the club decided to appeal Mike Dean’s call to send Soucek off and with the Football Association quickly rescinding such punishment, this will provide a timely boost to a club that is hoping to secure European football next season.

The Hammers will also look to return to winning ways on Monday, as they play host to basement outfit Sheffield United and although Chris Wilder’s men have showed plenty more fight as of late, you get the feeling that it is too little too late.

If the Blades are to stay up, it would have to be the greatest of escapes and with David Moyes’ men in far from generous mood lately, any hopes that the escape picks up pace in East London may be quickly extinguished.
Summary: Back West Ham to win at 1.80

THE THOMAS TUCHEL ERA CONTINUES

Even though the decision to sack Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager was a shock one, there is no doubt a change of managerial personnel has given the West London outfit a much needed shot in the arm.

The man who has stepped into the Stamford Bridge hotseat is Thomas Tuchel and after going unbeaten in his first four games as Premier League manager, there seems to be a new impetus to Chelsea’s season.

To the point where a top four finish is not outside the realms of possibility and Tuchel will be hoping his new players can extend his current unbeaten run to five league outings, as they welcome the visit of Newcastle on Monday night.

The Magpies are looking a little sharper as of late, as two wins from their last three league outings will attest to and for all their defensive negativity, it was their defence that got them over the line at the weekend.

That’s because they finished their encounter with Southampton two men short and although that was a rather remarkable win, you get the feeling that even with 11 men on the field against Chelsea, they will still come up short.
Summary: Back Chelsea to win at 1.25
