  1. Christian Atsu just couldn’t find a place in Everton — it was sad to see. I really had high hopes for him. I wish him well at Bournemouth.

  2. Ok. I’m a bit late to the game here, but I accept the challenge of making a comeback.

Best Bet: Lukaku (have to stick with the hot hand)
Defender: Dann (always has a chance at a cheeky goal – and does anybody think Stoke will score against Palace?)
Differential: Deeney (Watford lead the league in coversion percentage – enough said)

  3. Hey Joe, thanks for the comment. As a fan, I’d be happy if any of Everton’s mids really left their mark and took over the position on an elite level. Bolasie is a good pick to do that – but I am also keeping an eye on Mirallas. Before Martinez came in and soured him, he was a decent player. Now that Koeman is there it looks like he might be getting back to old form again. Frustrating pegging them in fantasy, but a joy to watch as a fan.

Capoue could be a flash in the pan, and after only four weeks, I’ll concede that point. But he’s at that prime age, surrounded by a capable group of attackers…I think he could really do something this year. Plus I think we ‘need’ him to do well if we’re all going to start to fit in Ibra and Aguero again. He really opens up funds which is critical.

I assumed that Man City mids would be a bit lower in the ownership percentages – but to see it be drastically lower did surprise me. If they continue to average 2+ goals per game over a longer stretch, it will be interesting to see how the meta team shifts to accomodate having at least one pricey mid from them.

But thanks for listening, Joe. Much appreciated!

  4. Best: Lukaku
    Differential: Chadli
    Defender: Baines

  5. Best: Alexis Sanchez
    Differential: Son
    Defender: Bellerin

  6. Thanks Joe!

I admit, I’m never sure if a person is going to agree with even a fraction of what I put out there – but I’m glad we’re on the same page. Also glad you enjoyed the pod, Jamie did a great job putting that and the article together.

    Good luck this weekend!

  7. Thanks man! The feedback is always appreciated (even more so when it’s positive ha ha).

  8. Will Bruin may still be a good play. I’ve looked at the odds for the games this weekend and Portland, though heavy favorites to win, are not favored to keep a clean sheet. Seattle is the best play this weekend based on the odds.

  9. Ha ha. Thanks for the warm welcome! Really, the pressure is on FC Dallas — I take none of that weight!

I think that from a pure numbers standpoint — and Seattle’s overwhelming home crowds — that game should play out according to plan 9 times out of 10. Believe me, as a Timbers fan, I look for any reason to hate on Seattle, but I have to give them their due credit this week. The matchup should overwhelm Dallas.

Again, great to be here! Who doesn’t love to talk football? Great stuff.
