Borussia Dortmund vs Sporting Lisbon: Preview, Prediction & Betting Tips.
This betting preview contains recent form, predicted lineups, injury news, match predictions and betting tips for Borussia Dortmund vs Sporting Lisbon.
Fixture: Borussia Dortmund vs Sporting Lisbon
Tournament: UEFA Champions League
Venue: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund
Date: Wednesday 2nd November 2016
Borussia Dortmund are flying high in Group F. They are currently top of the group having won two and drawn one of the opening three games and have scored ten goals so far. They have been similarly free-scoring in the league having averaged over two goals a game.
Sporting Lisbon looked solid defensively until the 89th minute in their first game against Real Madrid but haven’t looked as resilient since. They managed to shut out Legia Warsaw – a team that has only scored once in the competition – but then conceded two goals to Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund are unbeaten at home but have drawn their last two as goals have dried up slightly in recent times. However you can always back the German side to step it up in Europe and manage a few goals; the question is whether they can shut Sporting out.
One thing you can almost guarantee when it comes to Dortmund is goals. They score a lot but aren’t so great at shutting them out and I would expect both teams to find the net.
Judging by how the competition has gone so far, you would expect Dortmund to make the most of home advantage. They are unbeaten at home in the league and in Europe and tend to dominate games and possession more under Thomas Tuchel than they did under Jurgen Klopp.
